I'm sorry for you loss.
If the funeral is for a close relative of friend then you may know what they wanted if they wanted everyone feel depressed the n yes black is perfect, but if they wanted everyone to remember them as a happy person who left letting people know who they were then were what you are comfortable in. Don't were black just because its the colour of death your loved one surely wouldn't want you to feel upset and continuously grieving. just do want you thinks best.

Sorry again.
i know how you fell i lost my best Friend a few days ago.

Just be happy for them, that they have gone to a better place

I dont think that the color of your clothes is any important if somebody is dead.If somebody near me died,I would care the least what would I wear. You must have loved that person a lot, if this is the only thing which bothers you. What is important is to go to that funeral with clear heart and to save the last prayer for that person. Black is traditional, as well as white dress for bride. I dont think its important to be in black, but people are expressing their sadness through it.

You always wear black to a funeral. If you don't have formal black clothes, then try to dress up something that is less formal, but black. If you don't have the wardrobe for that, then wear something formal which is not bright and colorful.

Most people wear black, white or a tone down color. I remember for one funeral people wore bright colors because the dead person preferred it over dark(tv). Or people would wear the jewerly or clothes given to them by the deceased.

You can wear black but colour is accepted at funerals these days. I wouldn't arrive in a bright outfit but you can mix and match colours with black.

Dark colours are traditional for funerals, unless you have been told by the relatives to wear bright clothes, to celebrate the life.

It does not have to be black, it is up to you, I would not like people to wear black to my funeral, but each to there own.

some people wear black because death is depressing and people usually associate black with bad things. don't ask me why

other people wear white because they believe the departed is going to a better place, heaven if you will.
and people tend to associate whith with the good things
again don't ask me why.

so depending on which of these two ways you feel the most, that's the color you should wear, just don't wear grey.
ok wear that if you want

It depends on from what country you are and how close you are to the deceased, in general you should wear dark clothes and at least in Spain if you aren't from the family you shouldn't wear all your clothes black... I use to wear black trousers and dark gray on the top... but I live in Spain...
