I'm a liberal Christian, in the sense that I do not adhere to any particular denomination, because I've seen the brain washing effects of organized religion first hand. Therefore, I do not practice what I believe just because the doctrine of the church I go to states it.

Now, with that being said, I admit that I once had some prejudice feelings towards homosexuals in the past. I won't lie to you or myself. The issue I'm most focused on is gay marriage. Homosexuals can have a marriage ceremony anytime they would like, they would just not be accepted as legally married. Here are my thoughts on that. I've recently realized that it's senseless and ignorant for me to automatically choose to deny friendship to a person, simply because they are gay. After all, it doesn't affect me in any way. So, I'm tired of Christianity=unacceptance. I have friends that are gay, and it hasn't bothered me. But about gay marriage, I thought I might be able to shed some light as to why society doesn't...

They turn their noses up at black and white films and miss out on lots of great music. I loved old stuff when I was a kid, but today's youth seems to hate it.

Why does it seem that more people in America are more depressed, mentally ill, or on medication than any other country. I have friends from different countries and they have made this comment before, but I never payed attention until recently and now I see where they are coming from.

WOW!!! It is kind of creepy!

Okay. Here's the story. I've been living in my home for 26 years and I have seen neighbors come and go. The family that lived next door began renting their home to (it seems like) 3 or 4 families living together. Together, they all have 5 or 6 kids and they are constanting throwing things (trash) over the fence. I have told them to stop and I have complained to one of their parents but they continue to do so.

HERE IS what happened today: My daughter mowed the backyard lawn and I started watering it. I could see through the fence one little boy grab his hose on the other side peering through and spraying it. Then, when my daughter and I were sufficiently annoyed by being stared at, we went in the house and immediately after, one of the older boys (14?) threw a long wooden pole over. I went to the fence and told them to stop and I heard a faint, "I'm sorry." I don't know what else to do?

Does anyone have any advice that would solve this problem but keep neighborly peace?

During the war, we got pissed off at the yanks - over paid, over sexed and over here. As long as folk are the same colour, its ok to hate them. The scottish and the english, the irish and the english, the yanks and the other americans. Thats ok, but as soon as someone gets an all over suntan then we have to put ducktape on our mouths in case we say something racist. We all got called something - specky, fatty, beanpole, stick insect, crater face, all sorts of things that could hurt ur feelings. And what did our mums say ... sticks and stones. And we grew up fine, knowing that names will never hurt us so invented some good ones ourselves to throw back.
I am not suggesting that we all become little racists and start beating each other up, but its getting out of control. Many immigrants to this country are not integrating at all, and demanding that we as a society bow to their culture and views. Remember the nursery song baa baa black sheep? It was banned in my nursery.

In short, do you feel like you have better taste than most, or that others around you are suffering from an extreme lack of taste, sophistication, culture, education, etc.?

I'm not saying I feel this way. ;)

I'm only asking you. Know thyself.
