I'm not used to watching TV in black and white and it sort of hurts my eyes. But I've sat through some black and white movies before.

I absolutely love "old stuff!" I watch the Turner Classic Movies channel on TV whenever I have the time! I also enjoy older music (Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong).
You're right. It is unfortunate that so many people around my age -- which is 21, by the way -- are missing out on so much quality entertainment. Those movies relied on witty dialogue and scripting, rather than "Gee, how many things can I blow up in ten seconds?" in fact, just answering your question makes me want to go pop in my "Casablanca" DVD.

I think its another effect of television, personal entertainment "toys" like game boys, cell phones, iPods etc. I know some children, teens, even young adults (I myself am only 20) who are addicted to the virtual reality world broadcasted by their electronic devices. Im not saying its the only reason though.
I agree with you that they are missing out on some great stuff! I'm pretty old school by todays standards, without an iPod, or cable, but with a whole library of old videos that I love.

listen they just have to grow up that's all, you can't push.
When I was young I listened to Rap and R&B only. I never listened to my mom's Janice or ACDC eeewwww. And please I would not be caught dead looking at ANY of the shows she watched, which at the time were old to her!
NOW
I love to go to concerts and watch black & whites and Rck & Roll rules!
Its like a whole new world to me! I guess I was about 29ish when I saw the error of my ways.

that's great...that's exactly what I did when I was their age...it is boring to them..and so it should be ..that's how cultures evolve...if nobody had ever gotten tired of black and white films....we'd probably still be watching them.
