Why can't we like both? I occasionally like to shop but i'm also up to date on current issues and politics. Also, i know plenty of men who are more concerned with their looks and "sports stuff" so why does this question just pertain to females?

I think it depends on the type of women you get to meet in your daily life. Most college educated women and the girls who are headed in that direction, I find, are very interested in politics, society, philosophy, etc. It doesn't mean that they do not like fashion because quite often they do have the top of the line tastes. But in their world, they are not outcasts--at least I don't think so. They are usually in the leadership positions, though, and some men do find them intimidating.
As a percentage of all the women in the world, maybe they're a small number. But, their number is growing from uite a few that are out there already, and they do enjoy interactions with intelligent men.

I can't count for everyone, but I'm a female and I care about politics, society, psychology and religious matters. But I never thought of myself as a outcast

I'm not into the "cute" things and I'm doing okay. Considered a bit of a tomboy though.

Some women think that thinking = unattractive, although it is completely untrue. Men like a smart chick, but women don't know that. They think, "like, that girl is, like, a nerd because she is, like, totally into politics, you know? Ew! Let's be dumb."

Judging from the number of questions concerning penis length, I don't think so.

That's an American trait, it is not true for the world.
