I bought american DVDs and live in Europe, i called the shop where I had bought the DVD player and they guided me through entering a country specific code which made it recognize american DVDs.It can recognize both now. Ask at a local shop if they have such a code to make your DVD player recognize european DVDs

You must ask the salesman about that, as sometimes there are problems with voltage supply. As in Europe the voltage vary from 250 volts to 220 volts or could be both, some products.

Your Italian DVD will work on American equipment, but it will only perform in Italian. You will need a special translating attachment if you want it to speak English.
Honestly, sweetheart, I have no idea, but I kind of think it will work.
