Pitru (Sanskrit) - Peter and 'father' in Latin and English
Matru (Sanskrit) - Mother in English
Bhatru(Sanskrit) - Brother in English
Viratwa(Sanskrit) - Virility in English
Dwara (sanskrit) - Door in English;

....... and numerous other examples showing similarities in phonetics suggest that the western languages were at one time taken from India where Sanskrit is originated and the Veda was written some 30,000 years back.

Why we the Western scholars find it hard to accept the historical reality that India was the origin of all civilizations? Will Durant and Toynbee, both have advocated that India is the craddle for the world civilizations most of which have vanished in different parts of the world, leaving behind relics to recount the past..

Þar í Noregi búa margir menn. Sumir eru jarlar mjök ríkir, sumir víkingar sterkir. Fáir eru konungar, fáir eru illir ok fáir ragir. Sumir menn eru spakir mjök, ok mæla vel. Spakir kenna marga heima ok marga menn.
Fiskr er norskum mönnum góðr matr. Þeir fara í vágana ok forsana ok veiða fisk. Svá elda þeir fiskinn í eldi, er brennr. Meðan þeir elda hann, mæla þeir ok hlæja. Ostr er ok góðr matr, ok eta menninir ok ost með fiskinum. Góðir menn gefa svöngum ost ok fisk at eta. Svangir eta allan mat, er góðir gefa þeim.

I read it in Macbeth and I was wondering what it means or where it comes from. Usually words like that such as 'Tis or 'Twas mean "It is" and "It was". The apostrophe replaces the "I". If that was the case with this word it would be "It wixt".

Was "wixt" ever a word in English and if so what did it mean?

I love to learn languages more then any thing else. However, my school only offers french and spanish. What approach or program should I use to try to learn as many languages as possible as fast as possible. Also, keep in mind: I am not "excellent" with languages. For example I can't speak french fluently but I have been taking it for 3 years. I want to learn a lot of languages fast, how can I do this in a sane and somewhat believable way?

Oh my god! I am SO bored of listening to the same music in my car everyday! Do you have any suggestions
I think you should listen to Nadiya! Her self-named CD just released, and is filled with extraordinary songs, that you’re sure to enjoy, the types range from R & B to Rock! Many of Nadiya’s songs tell stories about real life problems; therefore they never fail to attract a wide number of fans. One of her singles, Amies Ennemies, has made it to the top of many charts, and has also been nominated for various awards! Nadiya has been very successful in her music career since she started in 2001 with her first album: Aucun dieu ne pourra me pardonner. Nadiya has won many awards including the 2002 and 2005 Victoires de la Musique. Even though she is a singer, Nadiya was previously a boxing champion with her brother Kader and has a five-year-old son
Wow! I instantly became Nadiya’s fan when I heard her powerful voice! I’ll see you at her concert next month

So I'm having a problem and disagreement here. My horse that I used to own (found him again after 3+ years of looking for him) his new change-able resistured name is now Caliente (How do you pronounce that?) And my dad and the owner of my horse (I used to own) says it means, Hot. But friends and school say it means shut up or be quiet.

What does it mean?

thank you

Nec Unquam Sec Dederes .... it's a motto that's I'm trying to find out the english translation of. Not looking to be sent to translation sites which are useless at the best of times and misleading at the worst. My latin is beyond novice (I think "nec" means "neither") so I'm looking to those far more advanced in the study than I.
