I am guessing from your phrase the focus of your topic for the day is the relief or generosity that has or is occurring along the Burmese boder.

focus comes from a lens on atelescope or camera , so when something is in focus it becomes sharp and not blurry

so if we are focusing on mercy along the burmese boarder means we are only considering mercy along the burmese boarder
