I was bored and was reading this on wikipedia and its the truest thing ever having lived in Southern CA all my life and then moving to Nor CA for 6 monhts and now moving back.

How differ ‘to shape, to create and to fashion’?

Does 'to create' mean 'make out of nothing' or does it mean 'construct a new object with a new concept (and) by help of existing materials'?

Hey, someone from work always asks how I am, but he only speaks Spanish. I said "eh mas o menos" which I know means more or less cause that's how I felt and didn't want to say "bien." when I really wasn't "bien." hehe. Is that okay or does that sound stupid?? Cause he just smiled like it was funny so I couldn't tell if it was dumb or whatever but okay just wondering..thanks for any help y'all rock! :) GOD BLESS! :D

Is is true about the F word ! Word derivation time again folks !?
I heard sometime ago that the F word is an anacranym for:- For Unlawful Carnal Kowledge - tracing back to debtors prisons era of UK history is this correct please - if not where does this - the number one swear word come from please ? And the other one - the ladies hate - the one beginning with C describing ladies genetalia - where does this one derive from and why is it so hated by the ladies please ?

I have a Belarussian child staying with me who speaks very limited English. She will NOT let us whistle. Apparently, it means you have no money when you whistle in Belarus. I'm fine with not whistling, but I don't really understand. It doesn't seem to be a joke to her, she honestly doesn't want us to whistle. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Why is it that some Mexican descendants that were born and raised in the United States still sound like they are from Mexico? Why don't they sound like Americans? I know there are regional dialects of American English, but many Mex. descendants sound more Mexican than anything else. Some of them sound like they just arrived in the U.S.A. I would also like to know why do many of them end their sentences with a questioning tone, even if it is not a question? Ex. "I'm going to my house?" "Then I'm gonna watch tv?" "After that I'll eat dinner?" I find this speaking style to be slighty confusing, I'm interesting in learning about it.

Ok, i alredy had something else translated, but apparently someone else saw the guy give me the paper with the spanish line, and thought it would be fun to give this to me. Once again, please if it's rude don't tell me, I don't know this person either.

Oh and there were some little line things that were above some of the vowels(i actually know what they're called, but i'm having a brain lapse and can't remember it), sorry if the lack of them makes this harder, and thanks if can help.

In Steinbeck's book, The Grapes of Wrath, there is mention of roadside signs from the 1930's--the Burma Shave series, etc. In the famous restaurant sceen, approx. mid-book, there is a small sign inthe restaurant that says "IITYWTYBAD" or something like hthat. I presume the initials stand for some popular phrase similar to "DLTBGYD" (Don't let the bastards grind you down).

Does anyone know what the Steinbeck acronym means?
