People say "the OC" referring to Orange County. "I'm going to the OC." "I'm going to the Orange County". It makes no sense when you type out Orange County. I think most of it is from the show but a lot of people now refer to the area as "the OC" it should just be "OC". That would be like saying "the LA" when referring to Los Angeles.

My maid only speaks Spanish and I need to ask her a question. The question I need to ask is, "Last week, Erik left a belt of his on this chair in the kitchen. Do you remember seeing it the last time you were here? It was black on one side and brown on the other. Maybe you thought it was Kevin or Lana's and put it in their room?"
Thanks so much for helping me translate! :)

Okay, I learned a lot of spanish through school and spanish speaking roommates, then I lived in Portugal for a while, and learned portuguese. I've been back in the states for about two years now, and it still seems whenever I try to speak spanish I always end up switching to portuguese mid-sentence. Any tricks for getting my head and mouth to better separate the two?

I know how to speak English (obviously, haha), Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. So, one other than those! I don't really know which to choose, I love languages and kind of want a challenge but I don't want the language to be impossibly hard to learn! Thanks!

What's the difference? There must be hundreds of words the US and UK both use but which have completely different meanings.

Chips, Fags, Gas....
