1976 Second time in the States. Exiting the JFK airport I received a leaflet by the title "let's go metric".
2006 I have been living in the States during the last 8 months. We still do not go metric.
Metric? If you want to know how many meters you have to go for 1 km you just add three zero's and you read it. That's all.
If you want to know how many inches is your height when you are 6'2" you must first multiply 6 by 12 than add 2. Very practical indeed!
I repeat metric: I am 1m87cm, i.e. 1.87m. I am 187 cm Just move the point or the comma back and forth, add or eliminate zero's. This is metric.

er youre almost correct. a clik is .065 miles, so 2k is 1.3 miles. and the reason we have the metric system, (as an engineer) is so the math is a damn sight easier. i guess you cant do trigonometry in fractions can you? how about mulitplying, or dividing fractions... how about interpreting world opinion? nope, you cant do that either...

and you have more poverty than an african country...and a worse social policy than china. you abuse more human rights than saddam hussein ever did...and yu sold weapons to the taliban and assama bin laden.... you butchered the indigenous population in a far more insidious way than any modern dictator has ever done. smallpox blankets... you gave smallpox infected blankets to women and children for gods sake. even hitler didnt kill as many people as the american govt. you kidnap and enslave whole generations, to use as slaves... oh how humane.
