I've never seen one get more than an obligatory wedge or 2 eaten. Chocolate cream goes over much better.

I am a single mom of an almost 7-year-old. I don't have family, and I'm not in a relationship, so I have been letting my son go to his father's family which leaves me alone.
I used to have friends when I was younger that would invite me for the holidays, but as it is, my best friend is my ex-boyfriend and I don't get invited to any of his functions, purely for the sake of being the ex.

I'm tired of being alone, and I feel the depression of it all looming early. I don't want to be alone again.

What do you do, alone, for the holidays?

Nope, not me. I'll be home watching high school football all day on Friday and Saturday and Sunday are pretty much wide open for myself. I might do some housecleaning or something else indoors. I won't be doing any shopping or anything too far away from the house with all of the places being crowded and everything. After all, that weekend is the biggest shopping weekend in the world and i'm not a big fan of the whole crowd scene, so that's not good for me.

A family tragedy is preventing my family from cooking this year and I'm wondering if any of you have ever taken that leap of faith and ordered a full pre-cooked Holiday dinner from one of your local grocery stores and had a good outcome? Normally, we'd cook but that's not in the stars for us this year. I sure hope next year is better. I don't know anyone who has done this. If you have, could you share your experience? Thanks so much, friends.

No, seriously - I'm a English girl and we don't learn about any USA history and culture really.

Just what are you guys and gals over there giving thanks for when you talk of thanksgiving?

My husband was deployed to Afghanistan last January, so I'm going to be spending the holiday season by myself (my friends and family already have alternative plans). Any ideas how to do Thanksgiving for one?

I know that Thanksgiving Day is really about Turkey and stuffings and harvest and stuff like that but I think that holiday is the best thing forNovember to let all of the people celebrated it even though if your not that pilgrims person or something like that! so I would say it is a good holiday and to enjoy your Thanksgiving Dinner with your own family and friends! Happy Thanksgiving Day To All!

I do have alot to be thankful for, with thanksgiving comming soon i wondered if there is a biblical tie or story to the holiday. I know it also may have something to do pilgrams but thats history. so anybodies opinion or facts would be helpful. i pray that we all have a great thanksgiving and all are thankful for even just the little things we take for granted. thank you!

I'm talking about that one food item that HAS to be on the Thanksgiving table at your house or it's just not Thanksgiving.
Not the biggies like Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie,
but something maybe unique to your family, and it doesn't have to be something you like either.
For example, my cousin always brings butternut squash casserole.
Now, I personally can't stand the stuff, but I would insist that someone whip some up if he failed to bring it, because, it simply
"would not be Thanksgiving" without butternut squash casserole on the table!!!
