Simplicity patterns has a costume book for kids. Try Wal Mart or up scale fabric stores.

For an Indian costume take a white sheet and die it in coffee to the right color of a tan / brown that you like. Make a simple dress or shirt with fringe around the bottom (patter at wal-mart or craft store). Take construction paper and make a head band and buy or find a large feather to glue to the side.

i did this thing in kindergarten, where u could be and indian or pilgrim, and we painted very long t-shirts brown, the decorated them to look good and made those headband things out of construction paper for indians. For pilgrims, we wore skirts, and white shirts, w/ paper bonnets. For boy pilgrims, it was dark pants, and a white shirt, with black soes, and we made those little gold buckles on the shoes out of paper. The teacher went to the party store, and bought abe lincoln hats for the boys to wear! :)
