I'm on a diet but there are 2 easter eggs in the cupboard I bought for family. The chocolate orange one is calling to me softly.....I want it so badly, I'm on my own in the house so there's nobody to stop me.

k, this probably sounds really corny, but my fiance recently moved back home from 3 months away (school related). I thought it would be fun and nice for him if I got him a fun gift. Since the closest holiday is Easter I have decided to make him an easter basket! (I really love holidays and doing things like this is as fun for me as it is for the receiver). anyway, I need some ideas for an easter basket for an adult! Nothing too expensive, I don't want to go over 40-50 dollars for the whole thing. any thoughts? thanks!

Ok the real reason is fine and children should be taught that.

But eggs filling the cupboards until the kids can get through them... getting silly amounts of chocolate eggs costing adults £'ss when we wouldn't normally encourage this kind of indulgence and we try getting our kids to eat healthy for the rest of the year...

Or am I just mean? I'd rather buy my daughter a small gift which isn't food, but something she would like as an easter present.

How does a Rabbit and eggs that signify fertility have anything to do with commemorating Christ death and his resurrection? I have looked and looked in the bible and there isnt one thing that even suggests that we should have implemented this.

Christ at Luke 22:19 instructed to "keep doing this in remembrance of me", referring to the remembrance of this last meal. Jesus never said celebrate his resurrection with a pagan holiday. He encouraged us to remember his ascension, and base our faith on the resurrection.

I'm not bashing anyone, but I am bashing the false teaching of this Easter, as it has no biblical ties. The word Christian ultimately means "Christ follower". We follow what our Lord says "to the letter", not what someone else says. If you want to celebrate Jesus' resurrection,GREAT! But don't include a pagan holiday with it.

Please just do your homework on Easter and see if it is a belief that Christians should do, if not then pray to God and ask for the truth on the matter

"Is there a candy company anywhere in the world that makes a box of chocolates using only white chocolate to cover the fillings like a "Whitman's Sampler" does with dark chocolate?:(

I work for General Mills, as a laborer. We are given many paid holidays, that the whole plant shuts down for. Well, I work in the bars department, milk and cereal, and nature valley trail mix bars, and we are set up on 12 hour 3-2 shifts. There was recently a LARGE order placed with our plant for the new Fiber One bars, and we were informed we would be working Easter Sunday. With this being a nationally recognized, and religous holiday, can they really make us work? This holiday is big both in my husbands family and with mine, we are Luthern, lots like Catholic, so we have big family gatherings.

In my town and a few others across the country, local festivities promoting Easter like "egg hunts" and "pictures with the Easter bunny" are being renamed to exclude any mention of the word "Easter", in favor of "Spring" in its place.

This is just like with Christmas changing to Holiday. Why is this happening? Really? Is anyone offended by a small town celebrating secular aspects of Easter? Changing the name does nothing but PROMOTE controversy.
