This Easter egg's not empty,
It's full of love for you,
And we want you to know
That Jesus loves you too.

When Jesus died his friends were sad,
They put him in a tomb.
A stone was then placed in front
And soldiers watched the room.

When three days passed an angel came
And moved the stone away.
The soldiers saw the angel
And they didn't want to stay

The friends came to look for Jesus,
They didn't want him harmed.
But Jesus Christ had risen,
So they were not alarmed.

The tomb may have been empty,
But Jesus was full of love.
And if we can live righteously,
We'll live with him above.

The dates we celebrate aren't the real dates but...

Easter celebrates the resurrection of Christ. You have Palm Sunday which is the Sunday before Easter. This is supposed to be when all the people were laying palms down and singing praises to Christ. A few days later these same people were shouting Crucify Him! He was crucified on Good Friday. 3 days later (Easter Sunday) He arose from the dead and later ascended into Heaven.

Barring the debate on when exactly it happened, Easter is the celebration of the risen Saviour. That is, Jesus died on a cross, was laid to rest in stone tomb, and rose again to life 3 days later. It's his rising (and the significance thereof) that is the true celebration.

Because Christ rose again, all that was prophesied about him was shown to be true. Being true, it means that his message here on Earth is also true: "Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.'" Through Christ alone is salvation found. That's what Easter is truly about.

Easter was celebrated long before the Christian version. The pagans celebrated Easter as a time for renewal and rebirth of life. Symbols of fertility are rabbits or baby chicks hatching from eggs. The daylight was becoming longer and the crops were springing to life. The sheep were having lambs. The Christians gave it a slightly different twist with "Jesus" representing the "sacrificial lamb". And they place his death there, and said he arose from the dead. (No one has ever actually risen from the dead).

What do you believe is the true meaning of easter? See I know that it is when Jesus arose up from the dead. He was crucified and then risin from death in the flesh, so to me that is the "true" definition or meaning to easter. I am not really into the whole easter bunny thing. I was as a child, but i am not going to teach my child that.

Oddly enough the Easter celebration is actually an attempt to paganize Passover. The Jews celebrated passover and when the council of Necea, and emperor Constintine, met with the church leaders about 300yrs after Christ's death they created a new holiday to coincide with the pagan fertility festival and spring rites. The pagans worshipped the Godess Ester. She was the Godess of spring and fertility. That is why we have easter eggs and rabbits---fertility. Christ reborn--rebirth of spring.....

Get a life, pal. Nobody cares about what you think about Easter. I know I don't.
(P.S. I know that you don't believe, so, mind your own godless business.)
