Hello all, I have a issue I would like some advice on please.

First off, I'm getting married in February to a wonderful women. But the problem that is coming up is where are we to spend our holidays with.

She told me that me and her decide on going to her families for thanks giving. But I don't remember that. So, my mother and family ask me to come over and I accepted. Now, she is hurt, but I told her I will go with her this thanksgiving with her family, and next year she could come with me to my family. Well, she really doesn't like that idea because her father travels alot when he works and she only gets to see him 3 or 4 times a year. But on the other hand. I feel that if we are going to spend our lives together, then we should do holidays different. I just really confused. Can someone help

As far as I can remember, in my family we never had just one person do all the cooking. The hostess usually cooks the turkey, and other people bring other meats and dishes. For example, one sister might cook the turkey and some veggies and rice. Another sister cooks a ham or lamb or duck and/or sweet potatoes with fruit and marshmallows. I cook macaroni and cheese and/or pie. or I might purchase a pie. My brother brings the wines.

I get the impression from TV that in other families one woman, the hostess, does all the cooking. If so, I don't think this is fair. What do you think? What's it like in your family?

I will be traveling 2-3 hrs on Thanksgiving. I will be doing all of the cooking, most after I get there. I would liek to know if anyone has any suggestions for cooking the turkey, I want it to taste fresh on Thursday. But I would lie to cook it on Wednesday. I was thinking of cooking it and deboneing and then reheating, or only cooking it 3/4 and finishing it there... Ideas.. I have a roaster i would like to use. HELPPPPP!!!!

Okay, my 20th birthday is coming up in December, and my question is, should I do something cool like throw a party? Or wait until my 21st....
What do you guys think? go out to dinner, see a movie, what?

And also, out of curiousity, what should I ask for my bday? Your suggestions are welcome.

As you may be aware a savings company called farepak have gone bust and all those families who have saved with them all year have lost all their money. About a million kids arnt going to have a happy xmas. If everyone sent in one present those kids would atleast have something to open on xmas day.
