My family all gather at my grand ma's house in Virginia for thanksgiving. some fly in, others drive. For some it will be a distance of 4 hours. My grandparents have passed on, but we keep the old home in the family, and use it for special gatherings like this.
Its an old farm house, large, and sturdy like they use to build them. 5 bedrooms 4 baths, lots of land. Its believed to be one of the last of a plantation home, but it was quickly changed to a large farm house. not many records of it ever being that.

Usually I've gone over to a sister's house. This year, it looks like we'll go to my niece's place and have a window view of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade over Broadway!

I used to make pies in the past, and for a couple of years I made pumpkin nog in the blender. (It involves vanilla ice cream, pumpkin puree, and other ingredients.) Lately I've been making a macaroni and cheese dish that my family fell in love with. I'll have to ask my niece what she wants me to bring this year.
