Okay, my 20th birthday is coming up in December, and my question is, should I do something cool like throw a party? Or wait until my 21st....
What do you guys think? go out to dinner, see a movie, what?
And also, out of curiousity, what should I ask for my bday? Your suggestions are welcome.

My birthdays in December too!!!! lol Anywaz I think u should celebrate but nothin 2 big cause come on 21 is the age you gotta make a big scene and act crazy!!!! Have ur self a lil suttin suttin but nothin u can't top next year!!!!

Do whatever makes you happy. If it will make you happy to have a party for your 20th birthday, by all means do so. If being 21 is a big deal to you, then have an even bigger fest. To me, birthdays lost their significance (as in the need for a party) years ago, when I was a small child. Just make sure that your party is safe, and avoid doing anything irresponsible that you will regret later. On your 21st birthday, don't be a fool and drink 21 shots, for nothing good will come of that.
Ask for realistic things for your birthday. In other words, ask things that people you know can possibly get for you. Or better yet, don't ask for or expect anything, and be pleasantly surprised. I personally believe that whilst it is nice to receive a LCD television for one's birthday, it is even better to buy the telly oneself after one has worked hard for it.

Celebrate it with family and lots of friends. Don't do the drinking thing please.
Going out for supper is a great idea and then a really good movie is so perfect.
What to ask for???? Don't ask but perhaps a hint to mom or dad that a visa gift card is in order. That was you can use it anywhere.

I have never heard of a 20 year old throwing a party for themselves. Parties are usually hosted by friends or family. As for gifts- unless its someone realclose to you who asks- you shouldn't expect birthday presents at your age- except from maybe parents- or boyfriend.
