My mom and grandparents would always tape a penny to the box of a pocket knife or set of steak knives that I received over the years. Mom said the penny protected from the possibility of cutting off the relationship. Did she make that up?

can someone please tell me what to do about noise at 8 am?

i live in a residential neighborhood- every summer- the nursing home across the street hires workers to do the yard at 8 o'clock in the morning- ALL SUMMER LONG! iM going to freak out- someone, please tell me what to do!-they have a sump pump that goes all night when its raining too! i think im going to have to move! any alternatives??

How would you handle this awkward situation?

At my job when I was laughing, I laughed so hard a fart slipped out. Other people heard it and laughed. I said, "Excuse me." Somebody told me not to worry because everybody does it. Not sure of the proper etiquette.

The shadows are eating my feet!?

The shadows in my room are creeping up on me, and menacingly making faces at me. I threw my teddy bear at them, and they laughed. Im locked up in my closet, and they are banging on the doors. Why won't the shadows leave me alone? I hate you!
