.....until I go in the hospital to get a new knee. ( you're probably thinking; " I will be so glad when she gets that done so she'll hush up about her KNEE! !) lol What last minute things can you think of that I need to do before I leave Weds morning at 6:00 a/m? I'm sort of anxious ( you know they say nurses and doctors make the worst patients.) I'm living proof of that. I am a big baby so help me remember the things I need to remember.

I am writing a paper about institutionalizing the elderly. I believe that people has lost their responsibility in taking care of the family and thus turn it to distant bureaucrats. In this manner, it destroys the family. What do you think? Please detail.

I have just been away for the weekend and spent a lot of money on clothes I didn't really need, but wanted. I don't really feel bad, but it got me thinking. What have you ever bought that you SO regret buying, and what did you do about it?

I KNOW that the Seniors category is NOT for the POLITICAL NUTZ, BUT I at 69+ years young, feel politically discriminated against, as Ms. Hillary R. Clinton has stated that she has a plan to pay $5,000.00, for each baby born !
Because of tumors in my past, I can not father children, 1. Is this discrimination against us "mature" folks, 2. Can this be made "retro-active", as I do have 4 children, born before the tumors / cancer set in ???

All opinions are welcome. This is effecting me mentally and I don't want to have a heart attack. Thanks.

A woman arrived late for her flight and was not allowed to board the plane. She became irate and was handcuffed and put into a holding cell, where she was left until she quieted.

They went in and found her dead; somehow the handcuffs had become wrapped around her neck.

At some point, her flight was rebooked.

Five years ago, my granddaughter booked a flight for herself and me to Oklahoma City. Since she wasn't sure if I would be the one going with her or her mother, she booked the flight in her mother's name. On the day of the flight was the first I heard that the flight (which was paid for by me) was not in my name.

I had to take a later flight and pay yet another fare.

Delta would not do anything about reimbursement, even though I had paid for three flights and one went empty, through no fault of mine.

I can understand this woman getting irate, even though it was a different airport and a different airline.

The Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,

even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter,

for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble,

it's a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.

But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;

many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.

Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,

it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;

you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you,

no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,

keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

I want you all to know about this very terrible microscopic enemy so that you have the chance of protecting your children and grandchildren.

It is in the States right now (as well as Australia, and other warm countries) and it is killing people.

The article says that all it would take to prevent infection is wearing of nose clips in "algae bloom" water.

This CREATURE eats brain tissue! A science fiction fantasy, you say? Not according to CDC.

I am still crying for the family of the boy who died. A 14 year old child murdered by a microscopic creature for wanting to splash around for his birthday?

And there is no cure...once you are infected, you are as good as dead. Make sure YOUR family doesn't join this one in their grief. Keep your young ones safe.

I was raised in NJ. I used to get sinus/allergy headaches every Spring and Fall. In Florida, I rarely had them. Here in Wisconsin, I'm getting them each Spring and Fall. Nothing over the counter is helping, and neither is anything the doctor had me try. It gives temporary relief sometimes, but not this time. Day 4 now. I figured there is something that grows in the northern US that doesn't grow in the south. Do any of you go through this as well?

With love from me, to all of you. Probably heard it, but it is mean't from the bottom of my heart.

'May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields.
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
In case perchance, one day
We will meet each other face to face"

What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Princess Diana's death!

And you ask, "How come?"
An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles, treated by an American doctor, using
Brazilian medicines.
This is asked of you by an American using Bill Gates's technology, and you're probably reading this on your computer, that uses Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexicans. Legal or il.
Do you have a better example?
