1986. It was a "portable" video camera with a separate battery pack & power/playback unit. It used BETA tapes & if memory serves me correctly, I financed it for about $600! I still have those stupid tapes with no way of ever viewing them. The unit was stolen soon after I bought it & I never bought another one. It was just more trouble than it was worth.

I purchased my first in 1991 and I think we paid seven hundred dollars. I do remember that it was closer to one thousand than five-hundred!

I still have it too but, it is a clunker that you prop on your shoulder. So, we decided to get a new one last year and we carry this one in our hand! By the way, it cost much less than the clunker did!

It was in the early 90's and a big awkward thing to carry. My ex won it at work. I sold it recently in a yard sale but haven't replaced it yet with a new model. They are so expensive!

I never bought one. I like still photos much better. I know quite a few people who have purchased them and only used them a few times. I thought it was a waste of money.

Can't remember...and we don't use it that much...seeing how fat we look in movies. lol But I remember the first movie camera my boyfriend (later husband) and I got. The movies we took made the people walk real fast in them and it was SO SO SO FUNNY!!!! Then we got a Bell and Howell Super 8 where everybody walked normally and it wasn't nearly as much fun. Go figure !!!

Boo hoo. After they stopped making super 8 movie cameras, I never had another video camera. Actually i haven't missed it. I take a ton of stills.
