OK, explain when a noose became a symbol of racism towards blacks? I mean, pirates were hanged. Witches were hanged. Prisoners were hanged. Outlaws were hanged.

Should you not be able to display a hanging dummy for Halloween because some people are so 'sensitive' that they might be offended by something?
What's next? Do we not display the guillotine because there may be some French people who are offended?
Take down all the crosses as that was a Roman execution method. Get rid of the giant executioner's axes because that might offend the British. Where does it stop?

When will people realize you do NOT have the right never to be offended?

Bill Cosby and Alvin Poissaint have written a new book called "Come On, People: On the Path from Victims to Victors." They speak at some length on Meet the Press about the problems of the American black community, how to decrease illigitimacy and drug use, and how to combat the relative disappearance of two-parent black families.

Transcript can be found here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21293963/

These two men -- both black, one an academic and one an entertainer -- are speaking some "hard truths" about personal responsibility.
1) Do you think Cosby's and Pouissaint's efforts will be effective? Why or why not?
2) How does their message compare to Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's message?
3) Which of the two "couples" has more credibly within the black community? Why?

My middle school son refers to kids cutting themselves, or as a minimum scraping their wrists until red (simulating cuts) as "emo." Trendy is one thing; dangerous is entirely another. Is my son hanging out with this type of child, or ones who are "goth" something I should be extra concerned about?

how I handled this situation?

While I was visiting my parents yesterday, my mom mentioned that she was in the mood for Taco Bell but didn't feel like driving. So I offered to go. She took me up on my offer, so off to Taco Bell I went. While I was there, I bumped into someone who I haven't seen in several years. (We were never friends but attended the same middle school.) After the "how are ya" and "whatchya been up to" routine, she blurted out this question: "So, do you still like black guys?" Well, lots of people have always known me as being attracted to black guys. But, since I was never close to her in any way, I thought her question was rude. Nonetheless, I responded politely by saying, "Just one, and I married him." (continued under "details")

If he has the guts to open up to you in the first place, would you mind in having one? That means you would be having a polygamy relationship. Would you accept?

some girls are well educated but prefer to sell their bodies for money that is already provided to them by their parents. One lady claims that the people who prostitute come from family back grounds wehere they have been either molested, ignored or harassed. Is this true or is it by choice coz i know of people from worse family back grounds and they are well respected people.

Can anybody give me some names of attractive well-known black women out there who are "really" black? When I say that, I mean those without hair weaves, those with the most natural look, ones who don't look "mixed" like Tyra and Beyonce with the highest percentage of African genes. I'm doing an art project where I am glorifying "ethnic" features that are so stigmatized in this Euro-centric world.
