Is it true that in the old days, Native American Indians could stop their hearts beating with the power of their mind?
I heard this somewhere and thought it was very interesting

What you are talking about is a specific ceremony. Not all tribes practice this ceremony only a few tribes and I'm not sure if it is still practiced as it was a very sacred and private ceremony.
Many tribal ceremonies have been outlawed by the US government due to their opinion and misunderstanding of those ceremonies.

Anything is possible. Brain is a powerful tool. You know like if you correctly do yoga, you can have control on a lot of your thoughts and your body. Yoga was a way, people in India use to meditate for years without eating or drinking.

If anyone was truly capable of this (and hey, mind power is capable of a lot), I'd have to assume it's a human thing then since they are just people, no more magical powers then the rest of us.

No, it is not true. And if it were, it could be done only once, as the lack of oxygenated blood to the brain and vital organs would do lasting and probably permanent harm within two minutes.
