Because it is a link language and if we go anywhere in the world we can communicate with other through this language.

No one really imposed that everybody should learn English. It is really up to you if you find the need to use it. Maybe the only reason why learning English seems very important (or, as you put it, a "must") is because it is widely used in most countries. It will be very beneficial for someone who likes (or who needs) to travel around the world, for people to understand the things happening around the world (since the popular and big news networks deliver news in English), etc.
In this line, it will also be very beneficial for someone to learn other languages, not just English. For instance, a businessman may find learning Chinese very useful. A literature student or historian may find it very useful to learn languages of other countries. Teachers teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) may find it very useful to learn other languages (e.g. Korean for teaching Korean students).

English is a must because it is our international language. It is decided that their must be a language which the whole world must know in order to communicate. So.. english is a must.

I think it's only a must for people who live in the US, England, or another country where it's the traditional language. If I went to a foreign country, I would learn their language, not expect them to know English.

I think ENGLISH is a International language and HINDI is national language.
70 % people speaks in ENGLISH in india and around the world...
So u can guess that why english is must for everybody...

Because if people from two different countries with different languages want to communicate then they need a language both understand. So, that language is English. It has alot to do with America being probably the most powerful nation.

Education is considered to be very important in our life. Although it is important in the overall development in an individual's life but education is given or taken with a primary need of obtaining good career. When we talk about career, English is universally accepted Business language. Hence, English has got its so much of importance.

Perhaps in this country it is,but 60 % of the world doesn't speak English. The three main languages spoken on Earth are Chinese,French,and Spanish. If you can speak one of these three along with English,you can communicate with just about anybody.

It should only be a must if you live in the US. If I go to Mexico I would not expect them to learn English because of me. I would not go to another country and expect them to change to my ways like alot of people do when they come to my country. Why should we change our ways just for the illegals that come here. That is soooo wrong.
