My understanding is that all these people came form Asia 14,000 years ago. The only groups that are different are the Alaskan natives because they came only 1,000 years ago, and that's why they look more like Chinese. What do you know about this?

When filling out forms, questions often ask for race (White, Black [of hispanic origin, not of hispanic origin], Asian/pacific islander, or Native American. There is never a place for mixed
people.
haf black/white people usually just consider blacks
but the half asian/white people I met considered themselves"Eurasian"
not just asian, because they look half and half, and the full blood asian people think their white, white people think their asian.
and halflatino/white people usually look very white, some even have blone hair and blue eyes.
Do you think government need to add a place for mixed people like( ''bi-racial''______and_____)fill in the box.
some mixed people would filled in "other" but I don't think most people would like to be called "other".
more and more babies are mixed nowadays.

I am a black American. I grew up in a very urban area, and it was the norm in my neighborhood for everyone to use a lot of slang when they spoke, and to use use words like "ain't" and to drop the "g" from words ending in "ing". My parents made sure that my family did not follow these habits.

I frequently get questions (from co-workers, from extended family, etc.), such as, "Why do you talk like that", or " Where do you come from" or even comments like, "How does it feel to be a white girl in a black body".

I feel that this is wrong on so many levels, and offensive besides. I'm not sure how to respond without sounding like I'm being defensive.

We are/were minorities who were not held back by minority status. Many of us came from poor immigrants but managed to receive higher education and a desirable occupation. How did we make this happen?

I realise that racist questions are horrible and hurtful but do you think it makes it ok to give racist answers? I dont. I think they should be dealt with as an individual not as a race or surely it makes us as bad as them. What do you think?
