Intelligent people are virtualy created by formal systematic educations but geniuses are never made as such but they are born such. I beleive this is due to heredity of gen. Indeed this question best applies to its purpose :-
The Question should quote genius people of India rather Intelligent people of India, then what applies should be:-
First definately the Tamils , second ( Kannadigas and telugus equaly ) , third the malayalees .
Perhaps north Indians too have great genius , Rabindranat Tagoore(punjab) - the first none white noble prize winner in the world and not to forget the great genius I admire, GANDHI from gujerat
I hoipe this answers the doubt

It is not from DNA stuctures but from the size of the pineal
gland that you have to compare.
The pineal gland of Indians is larger than any one else
in the world. (Donald Watson, A Dictionary of Mind &
Spirit, Rupa & co., New Delhi, 1991, page 244). The
pineal gland is the third eye. (B.F.Sergeev, Phisiology
for Everyone, Mir Publishers, Moscow, 1978, page 215).
It is the seat of higher knowledge according to the
esoteric teachings in medieval Europe. Sanskrit texts
on Yoga and Tantra also say the same thing. It is the
seat of peace, knowledge and self- realization.
Indians of different states excel in different fields:
Notable Indians in USA:
Who is the co-founder of Sun Microsystems?
Vinod Khosla
Who is the creator of Pentium CPU?
Vinod Dahm
Who is the founder and creator of Hotmail?
Sabeer Bhatia
Who is the president of AT & T-Bell Labs
(AT & T-Bell Labs is the creator of programming
languages C, C++, and OS Unix)
Arun Netravalli
Who is the GM of Hewlett Packard?
Rajiv Gupta
Who is the Microsoft Testing Director of Windows 2000,
responsible to iron out all initial problems?
Sanjay Tejwrika
Who are the Chief Executives of CitiBank,
Mckensey & Stanchart?
Victor Menezes, Rajat Gupta and Rana Talwar.
Quotes about India:
We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to
count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery
could have been made. - Albert Einstein.
India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace
of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother
of legend and the great grand mother of tradition. -
Mark Twain.
If there is one place on the face of earth where all
dreams of living men have found a home from the very
earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it
is India. - French scholar Romain Rolland.
India conquered and dominated China culturally for 20
centuries without ever having to send a single soldier
across her border. - Hu Shih. (Former Chinese
ambassador to USA)
India is the only country which accepted all the
cultures from around the world. India is the only
country whose culture is accepted by most countries of
the world.
Among all countries in the world, India has inherited
the largest number of ancient manuscripts from time
immemorial. They were written on the widest range of
subjects known to humans. Indians have travelled around
the world in ships to spread their knowledge since
millenia. The oldest universities of the world like
Patali Putra and Taksha Sila are located in India.
Scholars from far east and Europe came here for higher
knowledge.
The Telugu people are experts in Ganitha. Ancient Rishis
have kept it cryptically in the name Thenugu. Read it in the
reverse direction, you will get Ganitha. Among all
foreign compute programmers in USA, 58% are Telugu
people. The oldest Ganitha Sastram in India was written by
Paavuluri Mallana. Aithareya Brahmana says that Andhras
are one of the ancient tribes. It does not mention the names
of Tamils, Kannadigas and Malayalees.
The legend of Aeneas is supposed to have occured some
15000 years ago. Read the interaction of Andhras with
ancient Europe:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeneas
Many cognate words have formed due to the interaction.

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy..(einstein)
germans are great engineers, the swiss are great bankers.....i dont think so.i think that in this day n age u cant really clasify communities on a scale of intelligence.now if i ask u is einstein more intelligent or mozart.what is intelligence?what is true intelligence?was the practical sientist mre intelligent than the the creative composer?can u even compare the two?
you list communities from the south of india as intelligent...i guess someone will have to travel the whole country, identify all existing communities, then probably devise a scale for judging and comparing everyones intelligence.
but the real question is do we need such questions?we have enough divisions in our society abd intelligent people are not supposed to do such things!so why allow intelligence to be the new dividing factor!

when someone ask such a question then somebody have to answer it. I beleive most of the answerers here are young and not professional.
Mr. Jai Hind - learn to make Ur own researches, look in the net for what India have achived expecialy inthe fields of science, technology and professionalism then find out the ammount of such achivers contributing in such fields from each states then make this sum of people a ratio out of thier total population in that state - here U'll get some numbers - compare them within states and voilla...there U'll know which group contains and contributes the most intelligent peoples to our nation -

I was on a tour to (India) tamil nadu , witnessed the genius work of architecture on the Brihadeeswarar temple. I want to know how did or how could those people at that time - a thousand years ago could lift and carry a 70 - 80 ton vihana ( semi hemisphere ) granite stone sculputre to a height of about 70 meter high to the temple top a 1100 years ago. WOW My father who is also an engineer in UK salutes and adores with amazement of how this Indians could have done it at that time. ( because no civilization untill mid 20th century developed the technology and ability of tall CRANES to lift at one go as heavy as 80 ton. I still wonder till today how could they have done it ( liffting a 70-80 ton stone to a height of 70 meters 1100 years a go)- simply genius

From the DNA point you may have to recast your question because in all these states there is a mixture of different ethnic groups of whites (Aryans/ Brahmins/Arabs/etc.) and Dravidians. In both these groups there are intelligent people but the ratio may differ. Let us not go deep into such studies to project the superiority of one race over the other in IQ. However, levelling up of the superior qualities(not intelligence alone but a host of other qualities in arts, sports, health and above all altruism and EQ) through eugenic means will be advantageous for human progress in all these states and all over India or all over the world.

INDIA is like the fruit cake - the attractive sweet lovely cream on the top is like the north indians and the tasty and delicious fruit cake underneath is the southies. Individual Southern Indians are like each individual fruit types , uniquely represented in quantitative and qualitative values.
No doubt geniuses are the outcome of gen heritage, Einstein is an example - he is a german ( best ancient aryan civilization), Geniuses cannot be created - yes its true, they are born such - genius have the gifted natural ability in creativity, ingenuity and in inventions.

Its definately the TAMIL - at point blanc, its a fact. Indeed I have only one quote for everyone without doubt to proof this.
What is the one and only technology purely from INDIA 100% that is used extensively by the US military and UK military. Its the proudest contribution of India !!!! ( from the tamils )
They never even changed the indian name for it !!
CATAMARAN vesel technology, its from the great TAMIL kingdom of CHOLA - who used this ship building technology to conquer Sri lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia and even Cambodia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catamaran
CATAMARAN is a tamil name - I can say so much more on Tamilians contribution in technology science and maths to Indian legacy, besides on the previous post of part one of this question, there is a list of tamil greatness and contribution with elaboration and indeed it was just the tip of the iceberg.
got to go
grazies

Intelligence does not follow the regional barriers. You will find intelligent people all around India and you will find stupid people all around India. Being from a specific state does not matter. How you develop yourself and utilize your knowledge does.
All the best...
