I think it's because they respect their roots. There is no point pretending to be a European, African, American or Aussie when you aren't.

Because there are many people out there who don't like asian, especially asian men. I took off my mask to let them know who they're interacting with. I don't want them to get cozy with me and then finding out I'm asian. This way I put everything on the table so there won't be any surprise in the future. Being an asian in america is a social stigma. Asian people today still facing social discrimnation. Sadly, when you talk about it people will ridicule you blaming you for having low self esteem or some other social issues.
