Who says where Ice cream vans are allowed to tout thier wares while blaring silly tunes out? I live on a private estate and for the past fortnight or so some van has been round twice a day, late afternoon ear ly evening, there aren't many kids round here and they are at school during the first visit any way, is he allowed to do this? The noise is driving me nuts!

Reminds me of an Eric Morecambe sketch..he's looking out the window when an ambulance races past siren blaring ...ERIC says..." He'll won't sell much ice cream going at that speed !!!" boom..boom

Ice cream vans are fun. Of course he should be allowed to promote his business and adults AND kids love ice creams.

on applying for a licence to trade they are given areas and times allowed they have to stick to these but if hes your only ice crream man obviously he will come more often than an area where there are 3 or 4 trading they are allowed to trade up to 9pm at night

ask him nicely he will change is jingle for you to one your happier with

Ours only plays his tune for about 30 seconds. Try timing your one. If too long a time, phone the council.

The ice cream van is a british tradition,is this one to go aswell?
Tell him he annoys you with his chiming around the estate.

Either inform the police or your local council, you could get your neighbours involved, if he is causing a nuisance he should be banned.
