I'm beginning to think so. Has anyone else noticed this?

As a bi woman, I either learned or inherited my mom's taste for guys who look like they work, play, and eat hard, have a good amount of body hair, and are a bit goofy. I've mentioned Tony Stewart, the race car driver; I also like Larry the Cable Guy. And that's the type I look at in real life, too.

Gay and bi men tend not to share that taste, unless they're part of the "bear" subculture. And what the gay and bi men I know do look at, I wouldn't look at if it was 2 am and he was the last man in the bar!

Has anyone else noticed that tendency? Have you seen something different? And what do y'all like?

I ask in "Other--Cultures and Groups" to get straight responses, too.

Im tired of being bombarded every day with these kinds of images (see the link below).

This model is not sexy. This model doesn't even have the shape of a woman. Im tired of commercials, advertisments, television, movies, just about everywhere, trying to push this skeletal image onto us. Women are supposed to have shape to them, not look like a pre-pubescent boy.

less likely to have health problems or age better. Have you ever saw the little old men/women who have smoked cigars everyday of their life, ate red meat, drank coffee every morning, sunbath without oils and blocks, etc. many live to a ripe old age and still look good. Have you ever seen 30-40 years old active men/women who excercise everyday, are vegetarians, don't drink, don't smoke, wouldn't caught dead without sublock, but drop dead on their morning jog. Shouldn't we live life as we want and not adhere to what we see on the news everyday. I mean if you live to all these studies and crap we wouldn't be able to eat anything, drink, anything, and have any pleasures that life hold.

I'm sometimes ashamed of what my forefathers did to the Native Americans. So I wonder, Native Americans, do you consider yourselves "Americans" first or members of your tribal nation first?

You're obviously American citizens, but do you consider America sort of an "occupier" of land that is rightfully yours?

I would think it would be hard to be proud of a country that stole the land from your ancestors and shoved you all over the country, onto some of the least-desirable land we had.

Here is a quote from Dan Brown author of Da Vinci Code:

"My interest in secret societies is the product of many experiences, some I can discuss, others I cannot. "
Dan Brown

What do you think he is talking about? DO you know where he said this?

I keep seeing this number(333) everywhere i go. On Boxes, licence plates, Ad posters, My watch etc. I wouldnt think much of it except it seems to keep popping up. I will wake up in the middle of the night and look at the clock and it will say 3:33 or randomly look at my watch and it will be 3:33. This happens all the time so much that i can no longer put it down to chance. I was wondering if anyone else was having a similiar experience with this number and what you might think it means. If you do let me know.

When I was in high school, my Frenh teacher told the class that in France, commercials aren't shown during the show (like they are in America), but instead, all of the commericals are shown at the end of the show.

Is this still how televised commercials are done in France?

i'm not biracial, therefore i have no idea what this is like. i get sort of ruffled when i hear things like "halle berry was the first african-american miss america (or whatever)" because she's not african-american... she's half. she's just as white as she is black. i guess i feel like the media shouldn't pick their race for them.

to biracial people: does this irk you too? and to whoever: am i just being crazy? does acknowledging biraciality normalize it or exoticize it/alienate bi/multiracial people?
