Little Curious One,
You cannot use the "sins of the fathers" against their sons.
I am only 1/8 Indian. My great great grandmother was full blooded Blackfoot Indian. By law, I can legally claim as being American Indian, to get the benefits that Indians can get. However, I prefer to live my own way and on my own.
America tries to make up for stealing land and murdering and using Indians as slaves, by giving certain benefits to those whe are living on reservations, ets... But you cannot make up for something you didn't do. Nobody living today was here when the Trail of Tears was traveled and aptly named. Nobody alive now was here then, when the natives were forced out of their own. People now are not responsible for that. Just as nobody here started the African slave movement. There are very few still alive that remember having black slaves, and yet, a lot of black people still expect America to pay them back for something they had no part of or was even here for. Both were treated badly, but Jews were in slavery for 5000 years.
I just think you have to live how you can in today's day and age. It is not healthy to dwell on things you cannot change.

Yes native Americans are very proud of this country, they still consider it there own land, really it is us white people stole it from them. When ever there is a war going on the native americans are always ready to join the military and serve there country, in World War II there were a significant amount of native american that wanted to and did join americas army.

there is surely an excellent variety of theories yet no certainties about what you state as reality. there have been community peoples interior the Americas a minimum of 40,000 years. there is not any data that the Bering direction change into the significant direction, or the in worry-free words direction. Genetics prepare restricted kin between a handful of communities, yet do no longer prepare a lot of something - some Asians would have migrated out from Alaska, hypothetically. in worry-free words the Inuit ("Eskimos") are sure Bering migrants; something is hypothesis - and assumption. Whoever were given the following first is permitted to declare community prestige. quit attempting to apply technology as an excuse to justify robbery, homicide and injustice.

I am an enrolled S'Klallam tribal member, who resides on the reservation.
I do not refer to myself as "Native American". Although at times, to save the explanation to some curious people who must know my ethnicity, I will say that I am Native American, because this is the label that has been imposed upon us by white America.
I am a proud S'Klallam, Chippewa-Cree Native.
The glazed over idea of America, is, in my opinion, much to forged for anyone to be truly proud of. America has fallen into the horrible habit of fighting fights that it has no right to fight. The General America feeds on the acknowledgment of other countries, to the point of where it forgets what it was striving to be acknowledged for.
America is the only country in history to be in-debted to the point of no return, and still be able to shell out millions to countries who will never be able to return the favor...

To AFwife: it seems most of your answers to any question is "White Supremist". In reference to the Indians being "taken over" you forget that your White forefathers raped their women, slaughtered them, and just basically comitted genocide. That's not "only the strong survive"mentality.Thats Murder! And then stealing afterwards. Then Americans had the gall to push them back to the far ends of the earth on reservations. That is pure ugliness. Nothing cute about it.
