Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender - February 2007

Not being gay myself, I have to put this question forward. One of two things can be true. If you are gay, you eithier are because you were born that way, or because you chose to be. Most will say they were born that way, which means it was not a cognisant choice. If this is true, how can you take pride in being gay? You had no choice. Thats like saying I'm proud to be white. Really? You had no say in it, why would you take pride in that which you cannot control? Pride can be taken in personal choices and achievements, but not in things you have no control over. So if you didn't choose to be gay, yet take pride in it, how are no any better than some white prider? If you did choose to be gay, how can you defend your choice from attacks from christian fundementalists? I'm not gay, not anti gay, not christian, not a white prider. Just a question.

I asked a ? earlier about the gay community being represented in a poor light.
many agreed that this was true and that the majority were normal folks that just want to live in peace and be gay.
I just now read a question about why the gays were complaining about the Superbowl Snickers ad.
here is one answer...

I have talked this over will everyone I know and no one found it offensive. It was FUNNY. Groups like GLADD, the ACLU and PETA always go over board with protesting.
Don't blame this on the gay community put the blame where it belongs - GLADD.
So this brings me to my next question.
If groups like GLADD etc misrepresent the gay community why does the community allow it to happen?
If the poor public image of casual sex, drug use, and high risk promiscuity is an innaccurate view on True gay life then why does the supposed majority of repectable gays allow a minority to soil your public image?

People say that some people have long faces because they are gay or lesbian, but I don't think that is true. But I have seen some evidence to prove it is true, I guess that it might be but my friend is gay and he doesn't have a long face now does he. Well you wouldn't know cause you don't know him but what ever.

ok the thing is that i'm bi and my boyfriend knows that already but me and one of his friend (whos bi) have been talking and the things he dont like doing she does...me and her are really close now and I don't know how to tell me that i'm feeling her and want to be with her and not him...she said she would tell him for me but that wouldn't be right to do that to him...so my question is how do i tell him?
