I met this cross-dresser online. She/he is very nice. I'm a straight girl, but I would like to become friends with her. Is there any reason why I shouldn't. I don't know what to discuss with her. We are complete opposites. What should I do?

Some transgendered people are promiscuous. Some are not. Just like any other random category of people.

There is no reason why you shouldn't become friends with hir.

Being transgendered isn't contagious, and if the person is promiscious or not really depends on them, and has nothing to do with the fact that they are transgendered. Most transgendered people, especially those who are transsexual and feel they are the opposite gender than they physically are, will avoid any sexual contact, and be much safer to be around, especially since going to jail would lead to very bad situations for them.

Just discuss things with her like you would with any other friend, just because someone is a crossdresser or something doesn't mean that they are no longer a human being, or only have one thing about them that is special.

Nope. If a trans person is promiscuous or dangerous, it's an individual trait, not because of their transgenderism.

Use your best judgement; if your gut tells you something's off, don't be friends. If she seems nice enough, go for it! But remember to never give out personal information, and if you want to meet with her, do so with a friend, in a crowded, public place, with people knowing where you are. Be careful- there are lots of pyschos out there, non-trans and trans alike.

As for what to talk about . . well, just let the conversation go where it goes! If you find it difficult to keep making conversation, it might not be the best friendship. Just ask a lot of questions and share your experiences, since you're opposites and don't know much about one another.

Good luck!

Transgendered people are like everyone else on the planet. We are all just trying to find ourselves and be the best person we can be. So if that makes them unsafe then you should prepare yourself to not deal with ANYONE. We're all unsafe at one point. Open yourself a little. You might meet someone great.

*SOME* transpeople are promiscuous, just like any other group. Honestly, do whatever you want.

I'm ALWAYS on the watch for them and their kind. I usually set out a few claymores in the front yard in case any of 'em come prancing around.
