I am 30 now, when i was 17 i thought i was homosexual, i was on alot of mental tranquilizers, and sedatives and was a very depressed person, i found solace and love in a friend who was gay and thought that i was, i was 15 when i met him and began a relationship, when i was 17 i came out, i did use alot of drugs and drank heavily from 15-24 and was probably not in my right mind, for awhile i thought i might even be Bi, i had made the mistake though, and came out and everyone and their mother knew that i was gay, but they were shocked, i left him when i turned 20, and never dated a man again, but kept my relationships private, i am now 30, and know for SURE that i wasn't gay, i was confused, i have been to therapists, and counselors, and we all have concluded the fact that i was confused and not in my right mind, but all this time everyone still thinks i am gay, how do i tell everyone that i am NOT? i have been dating a woman for the past 4 years and plan to be married soon. HELP!

I've never been suicidal per se, but I've been sad enough to consider it. One day, it was almost Christmas time and I was sitting on my bed....there was a rope light on the stairway...I just kept staring at it and wondering if I could actually get away with it.

That's what I like to call a goth moment, lol

Anyway, what are your stories? I've heard that suicide occurs more often with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered teens and I think that's understandable.

Try not to make fun of others, for this is usually a deathly serious issue!

And remember; be HONEST!

You could even tell stories of friends and family if you have none of your own to tell.

I just recently discovered that there was a senior citizen catalogy on answeres. Who would know to look under society and culture, then culture and groups. Did you have a hard time finding it, or just me? I was just wondering.

Okay, I'm like 33 1/3% combined Cherokee, Tuscarora, and Navajo descent. So because I am a Black Indian, I mark 'black and 'native american' on applications or whatever. Why is it that so many of my black native friends and family would just put native american and not black? WTF is this? I mean, they'll tell you in a heartbeat what tribe they are from, but they won't own up to their black blood?

I ask because I keep seeing "Latino heritage month" and "Black history month". Don't take this as my complaining please. I'm genuinely curious if there is such a thing. I'd like to find a time to celebrate my heritage and gather with others who would like to as well, but it doesn't seem like there are many events groups or festivals celebrating much European heritage. I mean, there's Italian and Irish, and I'm Irish, but I'm German, Swiss, Scottish, French, and English too and in school, people were skeptical about letting European Americans celebrate their heritage, although minorities could celebrate theres. Please don't take offense, I just wonder if there's anything in any of the states anyone lives in where people get together and celebrate, or anything along those lines? Just interested in hearing about it, I'd love to get involved.

I have acknowledged that your renumeration is dissipated on superficial rubbish, and I am currently experimenting with divergent ideas to have an increased gamut of possible successes.

I like guys, and recently, I'm starting to like ladies. I guess I would be considered bicurious. In conversations with some friends, I have said that I like both. Is it wrong for me not to announce to the whole world and declare my 'label'? I know what I feel, does the rest of the world need to know all my business?

Just curious. It has grown so large. It started in a small town in Arkansas by a very nice man whose aim was to serve the best for less. Now it is a multibillion dollar organization that has destroyed a lot of Mom and Pop stores. Please share.

When I was a child, I had to use my imagination alot to enjoy
playing outside, or even inside. I made mud pies when it
rained and had tea parties, and played with paper dolls. I played "Annie, Annie Over" with neighbors and a ball. Or we played school, doctor, dress up, & in tree houses with a minimum of things. We didn't have many store bought
toys. Those were not necessities. So what we got for Christmas, had to be taken care of to last.
I remember later as a teenager, our dad bought a croquet
set, and that was a big deal for us to play in the backyard.
Times were changing, and soon we'd even have a colored TV.
But the 40's thru the mid 50s' were more times of struggle for many families. So I'd like to hear, how it was for just we seniors having to rely on improvising and using our imagin-
ations to have fun during those times.
