I ask because I keep seeing "Latino heritage month" and "Black history month". Don't take this as my complaining please. I'm genuinely curious if there is such a thing. I'd like to find a time to celebrate my heritage and gather with others who would like to as well, but it doesn't seem like there are many events groups or festivals celebrating much European heritage. I mean, there's Italian and Irish, and I'm Irish, but I'm German, Swiss, Scottish, French, and English too and in school, people were skeptical about letting European Americans celebrate their heritage, although minorities could celebrate theres. Please don't take offense, I just wonder if there's anything in any of the states anyone lives in where people get together and celebrate, or anything along those lines? Just interested in hearing about it, I'd love to get involved.

No, I don't think the U.S. government is going to allow a month that celebrates people of European ancestry. They won't let us be White & happy about it at the same time. When ever Whites are talked about as a group it's always in negative terms. It isn't illegal to be proud to be White. It's just considered racist by most of society. But you don't need your own special month to be proud of your heritage. You should be proud to be of European descent. Just think of the history of great European explorers, inventors, philosophers, artists, musicians, etc.

Not really, because white Americans, who have had hard times as well, don't thrive on being victims. But different groups have different celebrations. St. Patrick's Day is a popular holiday for Irish-Americans, celebrated here much more than in Ireland. Oktoberfest is celebrated in many places with large German populations.

It's a shame, though. Germans, Irish, Swedes, Dutch and other Europeans have made significant contributions to America--yet kids learn only about the ethnic groups which Democrats can get political mileage from.

There should be, why not, the majority of Americans are of European descent. But I think it should be broken down into say "Irish history month" or German, or Italian, or English or whatever. Hmm..there's not enough months in the year to celebrate all European nationalities, though.

You're thought on this make a lot of sense. But "White Heritage Month" sounds bad because of bad connotations.

take offense of this I'm sure most people will, but the truth is that if you are a white person and try to get anything going for your heritage you will be called a racist i am not a racist but i know that the white European people cannot have a special day because people of color throw a fit and call it racist .

No, no such thing in the land of the free. If it was it would be considered racist. Only people of color can celebrate their heritage in the good old USA.

You know why European Americans cant have there own month? Because it takes a whole year to celebrate all of our accomplishments. Thats the damn truth! Proud of it,

According to the PC'ers... "Every other month" is white-history month... therefore these other "special" months are to "balance things out."

Yeah, right! Can you spell "r - e - v - e - r - s - e --- d - i - s - c - r - i - m - i - n - a - t - i - o - n???"
