I spent a summer there and never had any trouble getting temp work. Same with Hanover. I ran into a couple of blatantly racist people (both in hanover), but overall I felt like I was treated okay.
Anyway, might try going through temp agencies, if a company likes you they might ask you to come on board full time.

Sadly, racism can be found absolutely everywhere. Many places do a good job of hiding it, but it is there nonetheless.
I advise you look everywhere you can--not just in York, but the surrounding community. If all else fails, you should move.

quit blaming other people for your failure. I absolutely hate people like you. I got fired once by a guy who was a different race then me, does that mean he is racist or did i do a crappy job. I keep myself in denial and say he is racist. Get over yourself.

there was some racial trouble there years ago . but this is true of most towns . head for a bigger town if you feel slighted .
