If you mean Shambo the sacred bullock kept by the Buddhist fraternity, he was put down after testing positive for TB, or so we were told, most likely he suffered from PC.

Who (or what) is Shamo?

According to Wikipedia -

Shamo is a Chinese translation for desert (specifically the Gobi desert).

Shamo (軍鶏 or シャモ) is a breed of chicken of Japan which was originated in Thailand. The name "Shamo" was a corruption of "Siam" during the early Edo period. This breed had been used in cockfights, but today, it is usually raised as broilers.

Yes, he was put to sleep by DEFRA officials/vets about 2 weeks ago, did you not see it on the news? The Buddhists lost their fight.
