Who had the most influence in who you turned how to be? Encouraged you, gave you good advise, believed in you, etc. Who was a role model, someone you admired and wanted to emulate? What did they teach you?

For me it was my aunt and uncle. Any unconditional love in my life I got from them. My aunt was a lobbyist and a farmers wife, and it was the two of them who made me realize there was a big world out there, and women could do more than be a wife and mother -

I remember running to my uncle one day and telling him there were fairies living down in the ravine. I was about 2 or 3 I guess, and I can still see him taking his cap of and rubbing his head and say "Well for gosh sakes I didnt know that?, My aunt came outside and he called her and said "Mildred did you know we have fairies living down by the creek? I think we had better go down there and have a look. I dont recall that I ever saw a fairy before but I sure wouldnt mind meeting them"

They were so good with children -

by their parents when they are little children that they are the best people? Comments like "You're Jewish, you should be proud."

And, if so, does this lead to a superiority complex whereby they look down on other races?

Now I am not racist in any way against Jewish people it's just I have known a number of Jewish families who match stereotypes. All Jewish people I know find themselves superior to other people. Although this might seem a very controversial question but do some Jewish families try to match stereotypes? Stereotypes meaning a typically smug person who is very self satisfied with themselves and their family on the outside but what goes on inside their home is completely not spoken of and forgotten . I've got a neighbor whose family is Jewish and all that family is hated because of how they act. For one their daughter is an "honor student" who does extra curricular activities while playing on a softball team. Her parents push her and push her not letting her make the decision to what her future is. Not only does this family constantly bring up how they've got a larger TV and an honor student and car that parks it self but they purposely live their life's like they are better.

They are men with men's voices, so why do they choose to speak with that flowery poncy airy fairy type of voice? Why not just use the voice they were born with. Does being gay automatically make you speak that way?

Ok, I am black, I was in a chat room. And the people there were bashing me about being black, they said how dumb black people are and how we rob stores and they said the n word a couple of times. I feel like crying because that has never happened to me before and I feel like i dont no, I had some kind of special trust in white people that they dont do things like that anymore. I was under the impression that things like that did not happen these days. And now I feel bad, I am 15 and I am attracted to boys who are white and now I feel like my hope of finding a white boy I like is over. I feel like becoming like my friends and as they say frequently staying away from whites. But inside I still think that its just these individuals who would say things like this not white people in general. Because I am a loving person, I love everyone and it hurts me sooooooo bad to think people would talk about me like that for something I cannot help. Please help me, I am so confused....

I have confided in a few friends over the years that I suffer from bi-polar disorder.... and have lost those friends or they slowly retreat from my life.
Do people with obvious physical disabilities suffer this same societal fear, inconsideration and apathy ?

If so, I apologize as a non physically disabled person because I am empathetic to the hurt and isolation society causes us to suffer.

Its not because of the bigger population. We live side by side with all cultures. We do not put others down. Why is it accepted in your country? Not by all people I know but some and I cannot believe in 2007 its still like this. Its sick and scary.

My bf and I are virgins and are going to have sex soon. We love each other, and are worried that we will act weird around each other after we do it. Should we be worried about this, or will this bring us together like we hope?

Normally, I'd be ranting on and on here about how that's not true, when clearly....Nevermind.
Yeah and I'm kinda pissed about that but I'll keep my comments to myself to avoid being reported, unlike some people.
So please answer the question.

Can anyone help me figure out why blacks are stereotyped as liking watermelon, fried chicken, lima beans, ham hocks, chitlins, and collard greens? This is so ridiculous. Is there any basis for these hurtful stereotypes?

I mean this totally respectfully.. not to insult anyone. I'm just wondering why this is a common trait?

The question was sparked because my husband and I were watching an episode of MTV's parental control last night that involved a gay male... and all of the gay males on the show had a lisp.. and it just got me kinda curious

We have only been together just short of two months.I really , really like her.We have been taking this real slow. Both of us have experienced hurt in previous relationships so were both cautious.

Anyhow, I have a vacation from work coming up in two weeks. While I had nothing planned,I have been thinking of asking her to take off work too and go away with me.Her job is very flexible so I don't think that would be a issue.
Would I be pushing things too much? How would I best bring it up without seeming like I am rushing things? I am thinking of paying for the whole trip since it's my idea.
My thoughts are maybe flying us out to Orlando to the Disney parks for a few days or driving up to Vermont and doing some hiking and staying at a bed and breakfast.
Should I ask her or is it too soon for a vacation together ?

Being with white women, are white women trophies to them? When they finally land a trophy white woman, do black men feel like winners? I guess it's understandable for them to feel like champions to be with a white woman.

Now I probably shoulden't ask this because Masons kill those who are not a Mason & knows thair secrets, but that's what this question is about. Now I bought this book from my job at goodwill, And it's really old. I know that for a fact. The book is raggady & in the book it says it was made in 1850. The books title is "New Masonic Trestle-Board". Now I have reasons to belive this might be the real deal & I have reasons to believe this isen't the real deal. The reasons why I think it might not be real is 1. In the front of the book thare's a tiny sticker saying: "Sold At Burnton's' Book, Music, And Cheap Publications Store, 241 Hudson St, N.Y." 2. On one of the first few pages it says that it's the Stereotype Edition. The reasons I have to believe that it is real is: 1. In the book it has prayers (And I think rituals too). 2. Thare are also symbols types in this book (Sorta like eygption writeing only a little more modrenized. But hardly more). 3. And thare's hymn like songs in here too.
