Its not because of the bigger population. We live side by side with all cultures. We do not put others down. Why is it accepted in your country? Not by all people I know but some and I cannot believe in 2007 its still like this. Its sick and scary.

White people are almost becoming a minority in every city of Canada so for those that say we havent got blacks or any other race other then white is sadly mistaken. We have every culture here. And we live in total peace. Total acceptance and peace.

Honestly the racism makes your country look dangerous. It is 2007 and its frightening to people and tourists. My family is a league of all nations and we just love it.

We are a melting pot. Every nationality is here. And alot of Americans who are fed up with crime came to Canada to live in peace and harmony.

Maybe you're just not seeing the racism. Just because you don't see it or hear it doesn't mean it doesn't happen in Canada.
But yes, it is a bit out of control in America. Some Americans think White is the only right. I don't know why it's like that...some people are just twisted.

In Canada it is a mixing pot.
In America the pot has melted and there is no way or place to mix.
When the term melting pot was coined it was for the European immigrants Only.
You must also understand that the races are internally divided
in America.
Let us use the Asians as an example. I am Korean , I am Chinese, I am Japanese and the list goes on into other races too.It was started to keep an old country identity and it is still with us to this day.Nations within a nation. The only thing that keeps them together the passport I am an American.

You are absolutely right, racism is ridiculous in our day and age, what with most people having some form of racial mixture in their blood. I am all white, can't even tan, but I don't see skin color when I look at someone, I look into their eyes, I will get much more information there than by a shade.
We are all different looking fish in this fishbowl, yet fish all the same. ;)
The main reason that the USA has racial and class issues is because they are not a society focused country like we are. We have a health care system that is enviable, we support each other. The US is more of a corporation, no money, no service. They focus more on Military than their public services.
Because of the financial divisions, the US culture is more of a survival of the fittest mentality. (kinda like high school how we tend to group together for security and identity) that is what happens in the states.

America loves racism. Thats not to say all Americans are racist, but we just love stereotypes, and even though we know they are not true, we love to make jokes about it and play the part. I just don't think that Canada has the strong racially separated cultures that the U.S. has had. When you live in Canada you have to grow accustomed to Canadian culture which has a stronger appetite for diversity. It is sick and scary over here, cause I can easily sense the difference when I go to Canada, good question.

You do realize that it is not possible whatsoever to say that no one in Canada puts people down. Or are you too busy judging and generalizing to realize that? Also..whoever said that racism is "accepted" in the US? There are people all over the world that are racist, regardless of where they are from. Whether you choose to believe it or not, I'm betting you that you'll find racist people in "your country", just like you would here in the US, just like you would in Europe, just like you would in Asia, so on so forth.
I do know that many, not all, but many, Americans (which I'm referring to all of North America when I say that) have become very arrogant, judgmental, and just flat out rude, so have many people from other countries. It makes me ill to see how people treat others any more.
One of these days people will realize we're all the same no matter what race, no matter what religion, no matter what beliefs we have.
And one of these days...people will also stop judging and generalizing...
Also..you can't say you live in "total peace and harmony" in Canada. Quite arrogant, really. You have no hate there? No crime? No problems? Really? Just pure love, care, kindness, etc? Well hot damn, why don't you share your secret with the rest of the world so then we all can live in "total peace and harmony". Like someone else said on here...just because you don't see it there, just because you don't hear about it happening there...doesn't mean it does not happen in Canada.
Imagine theres no heaven,
Its easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine theres no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer,
But Im not the only one,
I hope some day youll join us,
And the world will live as one.

There was an old comparison for black people in the US and then Canada, having very different experiences. But I think the diversity level in Canada was always very, very low. There wasn't as complex a mix as there is in the USA.
Canada has quite a few hicks. The major cities have some cosmopolitan types, but if you know working class people - there are racial problems because Canada and the United States have increasingly accepted immigrants who aren't interested in contributing to the society very much.

Blue lady: I am Canadian and racism does exist in ?Canada too. I work in a school with lots of students of various races. The racism is just terrible between various Asian groups, aboriginals, blacks (African descent) - to name a few. The threats scribed on the bathroom walls contain racist remarks not to mention the outside school building. Canada is full of racism but we tend to focus on the U.S. because of its size and the attention of the news media.
I think that Canada has better looking girls though !

Are you talking from your own experience?I haven't met too many Canadians, but the ones I have met seem to be more laid back than Americans. And believe me the americans don't have racism on their own. It happens in all countries. I used to think that everyone had a right to their own culture. But it would seem the Islamists have different ideas. However I would say Canadians must prove to be a good example to their american neighbours.

I don't think it has anything to do with the lack of black people. There are a *lot* of different races and ethnicities in Canada...yet they don' try to turn the country into a "melting pot" where everyone has to lose their cultural identity for the sake of some "Canadian" identity. People retain their cultures and yet still get along with each other and accept each other. That doesn't seem to happen much in the United States.

Because here in the United States we live in a dog eat dog, full on capitolist society where free enterprise rules the day. Just look at the New York Stock Exchange. In an environment ruled by white anglo males what more do you expect. This is competition saturated with greed. Why do you think that we don't even have universal health care as y'all have. As long as the ruling race can maintain control any way possible, even through rascism we will. Oops did I say we. I am a white anglo male small business man and that's just the way it is in America. We're not socialists and we're not communists. WE ARE THE ALL AMERICAN CAPITOLIST PIGS!!!!
