♥ I had a one-night stand once... I dont think that shows fear of commitment or lack of self respect. Before this one night stand I had a 2.5 year relationship and afterwards I have currently been in & still am in a 15 month relationship (and going strong). I have much self respect for myself. It happened once, it was a mistake... I mean I'm only human.
However as I mentioned I am currently in a long term relationship. We are engaged and planning our wedding. :-) I think that if someone has one night stands every night then thats sort of a different story.... that could mean lack of self respect or fear of commitment.
Good Luck!

Not necesarily the case, some people think that one night stands is all they can ever hope for, they just get their happiness one night at a time. A person like this might be one of the most true companions you could have. This does not mean everyone, so basically you can not categorize them as a whole, but rather judge each person by who they are and by how they act.

i don't agree with you. it depends on the person. if they feel like a one night stand, they can have a one night stand. if they want a relationship , they can be in a relationship.
sure, some of these people can't commit. but overall i think having one night stands are completely irrelevant in their ability to commit. they may just...be horny and not in a relationship, so they have some casual sex. if they were in a a relationship, they probably wouldn't do it.

Well, if you know the person you are with is looking for a one-night stand...then that person obviously isn't interested in a serious relationship.
So if you're trying to get a serious relationship, I wouldn't go with someone that has that kind of track record in hopes that maybe they'd be different with you...

I've had my fair share of one night stands, and I don't feel that it had anything to do with commitment or self-respect. More often than not it wasn't my idea at all. It's usually been with someone I was interested in, but for one reason or another we weren't able to continue our relationship.

It really depends if their love life consists only of one night flings and mulitple partners - if not then the problem is minimised. You have appeared to answer your own question, i can't help but to wonder if you are secretly wishing that your already made up mind could be swayed? If you have decided they aren't worth the hassle then so be it, People can change though.

Well, one can only wonder why they do it...some for money, some because they do not have respect, as you said, they are careless, and put their own health, as well as others, at risk....sometimes, it is not worth having a relationship, as they have done this so many times, even if they try to stop, it is such a habit that it is almost impossible, in spite of their own good intentions...so no, it isn't

I had one one night stand that didn't end up being a one night stand because she kept after me till we ended up dating for about six months. I didn't think there was any future because I didn't know anything about her but the more I talked to her the more I liked her.

One night stands shows a lack of respect and commitment period. It means they have no morals or no respect for vows or anything to do wtih commitment of any kind

I don't know I have never really been into one night stands, but on a few occasions I like to have some fun.
