if the government can mandate the race, culture, or ancestry of the employees a business owner can hire, why can't it simply mandate the hiring of the best candidate for the job??

I met a man who wears a pair of pierced earrings and I fell in love with him. I'm not sure whether he is gay(or bisexual) or not. But I heard from a friend of mine that a man wearing earrings was gay or bisexual in America. I'm not familiar with such informations. Is he gay or bisexual? If so, can he be interested in women? Should I give up?
Please tell me your honest answer.

Here's what I don't get... it is OK and even funny, to have a movie where a white guy is dating a black girl. The black girls father is a very proud African American and has an issue with the fact that his daughter is dating a white guy. I know it is a comedy, I loved the movie, I don't take stuff like that seriously, HOWEVER what would have happened if the movie was the other way around? The ACLU would have been picketing at every theatre across America. Why is it now socially acceptable for blacks to poke fun at white folks and not for us to do it also... granted black people used to be inslaved however that was a long long time ago. I doubt anyone is still alive who was a slave or owned slaves. If we want everything to be equal, we should either be able to poke fun at each other (in good humor) or not at all. Can't we all just get along!!! lol

Why do Western people use knife and fork, Eastern people use chopsticks?? What's the original reason of these 2 differences?? Why do we think using Chopsticks is 1 of Asian Traditional Culture, and using Knife and Fork is the Western Traditional Culture??
Thanks for answer

What do you do when you want something so bad, but it's so wrong? What do you do when you regret the choices you've made in the past, and there is not turning back? They say ,"So you've made your bed now sleep in it." It's taking every thing in me to stay in it. I think to myself what would it be like to step out of it just for a little while. Only in my dreams. That will have to be enough, because in reality I never will. Why wont it go away? I try to ignore it, but it only grows stronger. I try to deny it, but it stairs me in the face. It has a grip on my soul, and it's roots run deep. I've tried to set myself free, but it bares down on me like armor on a knight. It's who I am, and I can't change it. No matter how hard I try or how "normal" I pretend to be. I hide it because I'm afraid. Afraid that others may know. Afraid of ridicull and hate. Afraid of hurting the ones who love me. Is it better to live a lie, or to rip out loved one's hearts to live in pure truth. Would that be too selfish? To want to live a happy life.

I am getting ready to graduate form college. I will have a degree in special education and elementary education. I live in a rural community and there are a couple of people my age (who are now parents) that still hate me because I was really immature in high school. One of them I started a fight with and harassed because she stalked my boyfriend. The other I didn't do anything to really, she just hates me beause she heard I talked about her. I didn't take any crap in high school, but I have since grown up and learned that violence is never the answer. Do you think I should feel uncomfortable if I have these girls kids in my class? I would never treat them different from others, but will their parents be uncomfortable? would you as a parent? Do you think they will still be holding a grudge? Should I apologize if they conforont me? Or should I just not worry about it?

After reading the comments on piercing a young child I thought I'd ask this.

There will always be SOME medical reasons for it, and you could possibly argue for it in certain hot climates with poor hygene, but in Europe? America? Girls as well as boys?

I know plenty of devout Christians, in fact quite a few entire Christian Churches that love and welcome gay and lesbian parishoners, even clergy.
I listened to Evangelical speakers discussing gay marriage, and they came away agreeing we deserve civil unions at a minimum, and always, respect as human beings.
my point is, your preacher may spit venom on gays and lesbians, but he is NOT CHRIST HIMSELF.
Ask yourself, What Would Jesus Do?
He sure wouldn't be protesting soldier's funerals to espouse God's wrath against America for coddling gays.

Ive always wondered about civilization before the flood, so I think we have had a couple thousand years since the flood to establish all that we have done so far, skyscrapers, cars, etc...

If im not mistaken they had much more time before the flood, so did they have all the things that we have now? or do our minds work differently from a technological stand point?

If they did have some of the technologies that we do now, where did it all go?

My view about this is a very long debate. Who really has the right to say it's wrong or even right? O.K. The bible mentions it's wrong and it's for a man & a women. It also says For who has not sin to cast the first stone as well, and it amazes me to see many christian judge gay & lesbian people because they are "GAY" but why? Are you to hate someone just because they believe in something different way or see it another way? I'm just trying to understand why people have to play GOD and pass judgement. There are many religious gay people as well just because your gay does not mean you don't have GOD in your life. I feel if you love someone as you would love some one of the other sex and commit to that one person for life to live with your partner as like of man & wife would be & already had God in your life Then if that is what you believe in your heart (by the way we have MANY DIFFERENT religions!) I feel it's You who needs to answer to GOD & NOT who want to play GOD...Just a view :o)

Gay people are the new faces of accepted discrimination.
Muslims and people of Arab descent are being targeted because of the events of 9/11/2001.
Iraq is being attacked because it was randomly chosen as the only country that is a breeding ground for terrorists and terrorism.

Does one group (or the majority) have to oppose another group (or the minority) in order to collect votes?
