if the government can mandate the race, culture, or ancestry of the employees a business owner can hire, why can't it simply mandate the hiring of the best candidate for the job??

The Government is not meant to be "efficient".

By nature, its a 'beast' that feeds on the populace and can not control itself. It can not avoid waste, because if it were to turn in excess monies, then they wouldnt allocate that much for next year and they would run into deposites, and be in the red.

Now, being this inefficient movement, they can not tell you to 'hire the best' as they dont hire the best themselves! Just look at Congress! How many drunks, mudereres, bankrupted employees, excons and all kinds of misfits are in the Congress and Senate!

If they were looking for a job on the outside...NO ONE WOULD HIRE THEM!!! :)

I wish you well..

Uhhh... cuz it's the GOVERNMENT!! And we ALL know how mentally retarded the government truly is. The best candidate suggestion is not processed in their feeble minded heads and as such, we have the problems we do today.

That would make sense which means it will never happen. I don't know about you but when someone wants to hire me I want them to do it because I'm qualified not because of my race.
