My view about this is a very long debate. Who really has the right to say it's wrong or even right? O.K. The bible mentions it's wrong and it's for a man & a women. It also says For who has not sin to cast the first stone as well, and it amazes me to see many christian judge gay & lesbian people because they are "GAY" but why? Are you to hate someone just because they believe in something different way or see it another way? I'm just trying to understand why people have to play GOD and pass judgement. There are many religious gay people as well just because your gay does not mean you don't have GOD in your life. I feel if you love someone as you would love some one of the other sex and commit to that one person for life to live with your partner as like of man & wife would be & already had God in your life Then if that is what you believe in your heart (by the way we have MANY DIFFERENT religions!) I feel it's You who needs to answer to GOD & NOT who want to play GOD...Just a view :o)

I feel if your gay and lesbian who should have a right NOT to fight if Your partner can not get help in case of you getting killed in a war!!!
I used to just go with the flow about our rights as I am a proud lesbian and now ashamed how our country has become about these issues. I'm by far trying to change peoples thoughts & views but we R human too we breath, hurt, laugh, cry, etc just like any body else again we fight our fight as many others did about other rights and issues. Yes, I do see maybe in my life justice to be done...Thank U for all views good or bad like I said a very long debate on this issue....GOD BLESS EVERYONE :o)

See straight conservatives or religious straight zealots have a good time sitting back and pointing fingers, with-holding rights, judging and telling homosexuals how wrong they are for being who and what they are. Why?! Because the shoe isn't on the other foot. Black Americans who fought for their freedom and rights forget that they too were persecuted for being born the way they are. Women no to long ago were also being harassed and were fighting for rights, now they have them. Shoe is off of their feet and the homosexuals are in the Minority shoes now! Hopefully we will overcome this too! Not just as a individual minorities but as a nation!

God doesnt cast judgement...... Its funny how every time people want to make something OK, when deep down they know its wrong, they always bring God into it....
God clearly says in the Bible that we are to marry. (man & woman) and be fruitful & multiply, and last I knew 2 women or 2 men cant do that!!!! And if they do want children, then all of a sudden its OK to be with the opposite sex for that reason, which makes you look very hypocritical with double standards, where your sexual preferences are concerned!
Im not judging, God is the only one we have to worry about answering to, Im only stating what the Bible does say about it.

I believe that I and my partner alone have the right to decide if we want to enter into a marriage in front of God, church and family. No one..not politicians, religious leaders or just plain old hate mongers have any right to stand in our way. We deserve the same consideration as any other couple who want to share a commitment. At this point in history it is not looking so good for the home team, but maybe in a few years society will figure out that love is love and gender is not an issue.

The rite of marriage, when performed by a Church should fall under the Jurisdiction of that church only when considering whether or not their beliefs allow them to conduct the ceremony. There ARE Churches, every bit as legitimate as any other, that will perform a same-sex marriage.
If YOUR personal religion forbids something, don't YOU do it and keep your religious laws to yourself. You have absolutely no right to force them on me or anyone else according to the First Amendment(which BTW does supersede any STATE law.)
That being said, if the Government does NOT allow Same-sex marriages that are performed by a Church that will do so it is an Endorsement of Religion and clearly illegal. If the Government refuse to sell a Same-Sex couple a Marriage license basing the refusal on the sex of the couple, it is Discrimination based on Gender which is ALSO illegal.
Same sex marriages will be legal in all 50 States eventually. It is only a matter of time.

I'm with you on most of what you say, and I agree that gay and lesbian couples should have the same rights as straight couples. I do want to back up a minute though. You say that the Bible says gay marriage is wrong. No, the Bible was written in Ancient Greek and Hebrew languages. Those languages didn't even have words for homosexual or homosexuality. The understood sex between men to be either an act of violence, like the gang rape of the angels in Sodom, or an act of abuse like the temple prostitutes who were often young boys abused by older powerful men. The concept of same sex love, was not really addressed in the Bible. There are two stories that seem to touch on the subject (and treat it favorably, I might add) but on closer examination, they may not be talking about romantic love as much as they are talking about a strong bond between friends.
Those religious leaders who have us believe that the Bible says homosexuals or homosexuality can be equated with evil are leaders who want to control their flock using fear.
You are correct, God loves all his children. And the greatest commandment is that we love God and love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Same-sex marriage is a legal issue, not a religious one. Lesbians and gay people have to prove to the U.S. government that banning same-sex marriage is discriminatory. If the American government does not want to allow lesbians and gay people the right to get married, then they should provide lesbian and gay people who want to be committed to one another as life partners something that gives them all the rights and benefits that would be included for the people who are engaged in traditional heterosexual marriage. What's in a name, anyway? If same-sex marriage has to be called something else, then let it. The people in the committed same-sex relationship would be receiving all of the same rights and benefits as a married heterosexual couple. However, "Separate but equal" is still NOT equal. The government should not impose regulation on marriage or any other kind of relationships consisting of committed life partnerships between CONSENTING ADULTS (NO INCEST, of course) whether or not if two or more people are involved.

I agree 300% with you... i mean the same person that judges a gay person is the same person that will rob a blind man for his money or rape an innocent little kid. I mean why are we (gays and lesbians) being looked down on as if we are murders and rapist and criminals... Most of us are just trying to live a happy and normal life... I am a good citizen, i pay my taxes, i have a valid drivers license, i pay my own bills, i take care of my wife(whom im married to leagally in canada only ofcourse), i am trying to provide for the child she is carrying for us, i work full time, im in school part time, i graduated from highschool on time, i also passed real estate school, i have my own car and living on my own since i was 19 i mean and im only 22 years old... My point in all this is.. IM A GOOD PERSON why are the good people like myself being compared to murders and rapist, i always get someone that tells me im going to hell because im gay and its against god but the same person telling me that just shoplifted at target... i dont get it... the USA has their morals and values messed up... im sorry this is so long but im really really upset at the fact that people judge us for just LIVING a good decent life!!!!

I think the short answer to your question is: It's up to God to do the judging and no one else. Sure one side is wrong but I'm not sure what side but it's not for mankind to deal with.
I know someone will say "one side is wrong?" with a shocked face and yes I mean one side is wrong because spreading hate is not right and God did give us free will to live the way we want but said nothing about go on to the earth and hate people..
Take care :)

I agree with you completely. marriage is NOT a religious right, anyway! and the majority of Christians are not hateful Bible-thumpers. they "use" the Bible to justify their bigotry, and I don't consider those people to be real Christians. they have no right to assume the role of God and pass judgment. you CAN be Christian AND gay. there are many very accepting churches in my city. and, like you said, not everyone is even Christian, much less even religious at all. neither the government nor the church has any business dictating who we love. as long as we are consenting adults, we should be able to get married.

I really appreciate that question! I think its so absurd when I hear religious and political leaders say that gay marriage would threaten traditional role marriage....HOW?? that just cracks me up...so if gay marriage is allowed...christian marriages everywhere will be in jeopardy?? how the heck does that work?? Love is love.....gay love is not any different than heterosexual love other than you love someone of the same sex. I know gay couples that are more committed to each other than any straight couple I know. it's such blatant discrimination....and very sad indeed!
