The ones I know who have come out later in years said they acted the way they did to keep the finger from being pointed at them so that would make me think the numbers are up there near 100%. I also feel the straight people who don't hate are the only true straight people.

The core cause of this fear is the result of the fact that many homophobes, including most virulent, violent homophobes are themselves repressed sexually, often with same sex attractions. One of the recent studies done at the University of Georgia among convicted killers of gay men has shown that the overwhelmingly large percentage of them (more than 70%) exhibit sexual arousal when shown scenes of gay sex. The core fear, then, for the homophobe is that he himself might be gay, and might be forced to face that fact. The homophobia can be as internalized as it is externalized - bash the queer and you don't have to worry about being aroused by him.
All they gotta do is ask nicely ime sure someone will do them ....lol
Secondly there prob just so bored with there lives there terrified gays may be doing it better or enjoying it better…and this unfortunately is very true..we do!

Is it possible to become passionately enraged about something that does not in some way directly affect yourself? Hate, after all, is not the opposite of love.
At the same time, some people are just fearful, narrow bigots mis-using the Bible to judge as inferior everyone not like themselves.
I'd go with the U of Georgia 80-20 stats previously cited.

This reminds me of a court room expert , for enough money or for other reasons you can get somebody to report anything you want to hear the way you want to hear it. To listen to these fags everybodys really gay.
By this same queer logic that homophobes are really gay the I can assume that all Klansmen really want to be black . Ha , where do the researchers get there stats , by polling gay bars ?

That's a good question. From my experience most straight people who are not religious zealots don't really have a problem with gay people. When a supposedly "straight" person talks alot about homosexuals and constantly makes disparaging remarks about them that throws up a major red flag to me. "Me thinks ye doth protest too much" is a very wise adage.

The University of Georgia Study indicates that about 80 of that 100 have significant interest in the same sex (enough to become aroused to some degree) and about 54 are probably gay.
The study was the most compelling evidence I've seen that homophobia is almost entirely an issue of self-hating bisexuals who can't deal with their attraction to same sex members.

The number is probably in the single-digits because the population share of g&l is in the upper single-digits.
As for the other's comments critical of the homophobe term, they are correct but in this context we know what is meant, the same as we know what gay means, even those most of those I know that are, aren't (gay as in happy and carefree).
