Dude,

Ya know? At first I thought you were being ridiculous, but when I read your question a second time, I realized you're very serious!

Many answers you received so far, primarily say the same thing. You really don't need a parade to acknowledge your pride, do you? In fact, parades are put together by groups of individuals who believe in the nature of the event so they celebrate.

You have your ethnic groups, say like the IRISH putting on your St Paddy Day parades; the CHINESE putting on your Chinese New Year's parades; and the CARIBBEAN putting on the Caribana parades. Then you have the MAJOR DEPARTMENT STORES putting together the Santa Claus parades & New Year's Day parades. In the USA they have many SPORTS FANS putting on the Cotton, Rose, Toilet and whatever Bowl parades to celebrate the sport of football; and of course you have the GAY & GAY POSITIVE people now putting on a pride to celebrate 'acceptance' and the end of many years of harrassment, ridicule, and years of being made to believe that we are nothing but degenerate sex offenders. I might add at this point, in my many years of attending any kind of parade, I do notice that the Gay Pride Parade with the most widely attended by EVERYONE, not just gay people. In fact it sounds like you've been to at least one yourself. (Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm!)

Look my friend, if you want to put together a parade to acknowledge your STRAIGHT self, AND THEN prance about the place pontificating on a 'tolerant' public (key word here is tolerant), by all means, do it. I'm sure you will get your interested parties to join in your venture, but hey, let me ask you this? Will this event really make you feel like you are proud to be straight - or just send you straight to be proud?

Think about it!

Thanks for the question, I truly hope you find your answer.

When did anyone stop the straight community from doing so? You can have a parade about anything. Become an activist in the straight community - set up a club so straights can get together and talk about the way the federal and local government denies them equal rights with the gay community.

Find sponsors, persuade politicians to ride in your parade. Get straight-only organizations, like the KKK to join in and include a float.

I might even come and watch; and maybe hold up a few religious signs pointing out that adulterers and women who have oral sex with a guy are going to burn in hell for all eternity. (You may have to explain my sign to your young kids that thought they were going out for a fun day with their parents).

New Years Day Parades, 4th of July Parades, Saint Patrick's Day Parades... Gay Pride Parades. There's not much difference since they all are about celebrating something American. You're invited. Why don't you get over yourself and simply attend?

Anyone who doesn't realize that it is Straight Pride Day every single day in this country is taking his freedom for granted.

When you start getting cursed at, spat on, passed over for promotion, refused housing, taxed unfairly, beaten up, raped, and killed simply because of who you love, you can have a parade.

And when those things STOP happening to MY people, so will our parades.

I want to see it, just to see you "prance" I'd also go to your "coming out" party! Gay pride is there because they have been oppressed for a very long time and hated by society for something that they SHOULD be proud of.....how does this adversely affect you?

When the heteros are proud that they've made a mockery of marriage with divorce rates in the 60% range, brought more children into the world than they can care for, and continue to allow gay marriage to be mentioned followed by "what's next - people marrying animals?"

I guess you do have a lot to be proud of.

You don't need a straight pride parade because straights dont have to fight for their rights Straights aren't being disriminated against.

They already do. They show up to protest against good guys and smart and wise women. The turds throw shitt at them and the hos go out and ho themselves out for these turds joining in the protest.
