Only 20 minutes from my home there is a soup kitchen that we serve at each week. 2 additional satellite serving areas have recently opened at area churches to help the people who are too far to walk to the main facility. There has been a 11% increase this year alone. I need to do more. More and more children are coming and it is breaking my heart. These patrons get excited when we have toothbrushes or socks to give out...and of course there is never enough.

I want to do a sleeping bag drive for the homeless with sleeping bags that are rated for below zero temperatures. And I want to give them to all that want them because many times they cannot afford electricity if they do have adequate housing.

My goal is 200 adult sleeping bags and 300 childrens and I want them to be new if possible. Can I do this?

How do I get the audience I need to have this completed by November-December latest? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Considering India IS IT true that many people break some laws in their life time perhaps which are small or of less severe nature ; for example: Traffic laws , Trespass, Bribery , Cyber laws, Disrespect of national anthem or flag, Cheating ,Copying in exams, Small theft, Defamation ,Electricity theft, Teasing or Molesting females,Child labour & Child marriage in rural places ........
knowingly or negligently or because of unawareness or circumstances and remain unnoticed ,uncomplained & unharmed????
IF yes; what do u think ; how many people of that kind are there in India???
IF yes; what are reasons behind it??

why don't we hear or see more celebs or wealthy americans giving more money to build homes and rebuild communities?
to the best of my knowledge donations are tax deductable. so why not help out the unfortunate souls still living in trailers or where ever they can find shelter?
shame to be sitting on allllll that money and doing nothing good with it.

My father unfortunately passed away a few weeks ago, aged 52 of a heart defect that should have been detected and in an effort to do everything we can do stop this happening again we are trying to raise as much money as possible.

The money will be going to our local church where my Dad had his funeral as they are in much need for restoration and maintenance help.

I would be so grateful if anyonecould donate something for our night. We are holding a raffle/auction and are looking for prizes.

I look forward to hearing from you, and thanks for your time.

this kid on youtube is doing this charity where he has a swear jar and fills it with change for each swear he says. He encourages other people to make their own jar.

The goal is to raise money for "Homes for our troops" which makes houses tailored to the needs of disabled veterans.

Personally I think it's great and people should donate. But I want to know if you've heard of it and what you'll do now that you have.

the direct charity(the link is also posted on the video)

it's not about supporting the war, it about supporting the troops.

I would like to found a charity. The concept is simple. I currently collect aluminum, originally soda can tops then the cans themselves, recycle them, and have the proceeds donated to Shriners Burns Hospitals.

My efforts have grown in size to a point that I am incurring higher personal costs than I would like. The philanthropy makes me feel good but I would like to be able to write off the expenses I am icurring such as raw materials for collection bins that I place at local businesses and schools as well as truck rentals to perform the collecting.

Do any of you know which government body I might contact to file for non-profit status? Or, given that my objective is simply to be able to write off my work as a charitabe donation is this even the route I want to take? All feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I want to create a website designed to fund raise for one particular story. How would I make it so that people could donate through the website? I know there's Paypal, but what about people without that? How can they just use their credit cards to donate? And how do I link it to a bank fund? Thanks.

Some points to consider:
- highest impact
- most urgent needs
- short term vs long term
- risks, certainty of results
- degree of involvement, responsibility
Anyway, how would you choose to use those $100? If you'd give it to a charity, which one and why?
