Roughly, how many cans do you have to save up in order to get a decent amount of money? M brothers, uncles, and I drink mountain dew sometimes and I was thinking about saving some cans up to earn extra money.

Where I live in CA, I get about $8 per big garbage bag full!

You have to save a lot. We had a 55 gallon drum we saved clean, crushed cans in and we only got about $20 when the thing was full. That was in California. Hopefully where you take them pays better.

It takes about 20 cans to equal one pound. so if cans are at 80 cents a pound a can is worth 4 cents. That gives you a starting point to find the value from the going rate in your area. Here they are .0375 a can.
