Some points to consider:
- highest impact
- most urgent needs
- short term vs long term
- risks, certainty of results
- degree of involvement, responsibility
Anyway, how would you choose to use those $100? If you'd give it to a charity, which one and why?

send it to me....lol.
No seriously. I think the BEST thing you can do is help those in YOUR community FIRST. Go to your local retail store and purchase school supplies (pens, pencils, eraser, glue, notebooks, etc.) for children who are not well off. This will be the highest impact charity you can do right now, because CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE. You will enable and empower them through your charity because you are giving them a chance to participate in their education, whereas they might not have had a chance.
Keep things simple...you will affect more people that way.
Good Luck!

I give to the Salvation Army because after research I've found that the largest percent on the dollar goes directly to helping those in need. Unfortunately many charities have high operating costs such as administration. The money is paid to the people who run it and a small, very small amount goes into the actual charity.
In addition, The Salvation Army gives me the option of where and how this gift is to used. They have never had corruption problems like some others.

The Red Cross is my charity of choice. No prejudice within its ranks, but it has a great desire to help others ANYWHERE in the world. I would spend my $100.00 to give assistance to all others. This could be at home or worldwide. I would let the Red Cross decide. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

$100 is sufficient to do the following the following for a community pharmacy in an african country to protect the health of poor kids and families:

Buy 1200 tablets of Ciprofloxacine 500 mg.
Buy 3000 tablets of Doxycycline 100 mg
Buy 4000 tablets of Ibuprofene 400 mg blister
Buy 4000 tablets of Cotrimoxazole 480 mg blister
Buy 800 tablets of Amoxiciline 500 mg

All to protect extremelly poor people against acute bronchities, diarrhea, malaria, pain and aches.

This benefits a population without any help and other alternatives compared to people eating in soup kitchens in developped countries.
The need is urgent, because children die of acute diarrhea, malaria and bronchitis in the area due to a lack of drugs and also because they parents live in abject poverty.
Short term goals will consist in reaching out to people in need of medical help and establishing a public community pharmacy. Long term goals is to get sponsoring from major drugs manufacturers to sustain the operation.
I would give the money to OuagaNet, a 501-c-3 organisation which is helping a poor community in Africa in the area of health and education. They have photos of medical operations at their site to show to people

I would suggest you wait for 2-3 months and see how many
persons will join and also contribute $ 100 for the needy
(specially Africa). I too will contribute $ 100 for this cause.

IF YOU WALK THROUGH THE POOREST AREA IN ANY CITY IN AMERICA YOU WILL FIND PEOPLE WHO ARE IN GREAT NEED. IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU WILL SEE HOMELESS FOLKS WHO ARE ACTUALLY DYING AND WHO ARE UNABLE TO ACCESS ANY SERVICES. IF YOU GAVE THOSE PEOPLE $20 IT WOULD HAVE MORE IMPACT THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE. WHY NOT MAKE 5 PEOPLE VERY HAPPY? DO IT ON A COLD, RAINY DAY.
