Looks like it is not easy to become volunteer in the hospital in LA. My daughter applied but she is not getting any responses back. What was your experience with finding volunteer work? Is it better to go to the hospital directly instead of applying online? Any advices?

As a former hospital volunteer, I know that hospitals are very busy, and sometimes the process does take a while. However, I would suggest that you contact the following departments at your local hospitals:

Volunteer Services/Auxillary Services
Community Relations
Human Resources

If you are looking for additional locations, here's a directory resource:

You might also work in conjunction with your local volunteer centers for referrals:

Good luck!

I'm not sure about private hospitals but I used to work at the VA Hospital and we loved our volunteers. We had an entire division called Voluntary Services that coordinated our volunteer projects. Perhaps you could have your daughter call the hospitals and ask for the voluntary division or service and speak with someone directly. Best of luck to you!
