All pillars of our society are crumbling. Corruption and poverty is eating up developing countries. Our hate towards each other because of race, religion, territory is destroying our moral sense. Everyone is fighting for their own daily survival. In such a world, we need to bring widespread change in how ppl think and act. What do you think is the best way to do that?

I want to start a project with my friends to help people in my comminuty (Harrisburg Pa area). There are many people here that are 'socially bankrupt' (they will take a handout - but will not accept real 'help' - and do not desire to try to help themselves). I want to find a way to communicate to these people that there are 'good people' around here who actually care, and want to help.

I have several friends (about 15 families) who are (or may become)interested in being part of this project - but probably would only be able to commit to actual 'work' every other week or at best once a week (we all have kids and full-time jobs).

I think that I can 'raise' about $100 a month (maybe more) to put towards this project. Perhaps if it becomes more sucessful, I could convince our church 'youth-group' to be part of it as well (one of my friends is the youth pastor of my church).

Just curious, and hoping maybe the question will spark more interest in charitable donation!

I donate to:

World Vision, Wildlife Conservation Society, and our local Humane Society. It is hard to pick, there are so many important causes.

Now a days we used see the parthenium bush expand like anything. In India u will find all along with railway track. Most of the places where people do not go regularly, u will find " parthenium bush". This is migrated from other country, it has no use. It is very much harmfull to human body. Lots of deasease like asthama, skin problem etc are being increased with the parthenium. I would like to invite people who r interested to remove parthenium from the society. Please try to under stand the problem now otherwise it will be attack our live in future.

I am getting so sick and tired of people asking questions that have common sense answers. And YES I COUNT THIS AS A COMMON SENSE QUESTION! If people and the government would HONESTLY give the proceeds to those affected by poverty, then it would be less of a problem to deal with as more is done to eradicate this preventable predicament. By the way, you may want to start by helping poverty-stricken people in your own blessed country. Especially with the way our government makes enemies with damn near every country, it doesn't make sense to take care of other countries that you've started a elementary school fight with and may turn on you if you make 1 wrong move too many. Another thing, the United States does have its vulnerabilities. DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!!!!

The United States Government says that we should help out the people who live in Africa. But kids who aren't even old enough for elementary school are dying every day because they don't have enough to eat. And to me it seems like the poor people are the ones who have the most kids. This is in the US of A, and it is happening today. The United States of America's Government is a bunch of hypocrites. Should we or should we not help the people who die everyday in this country?

We as Americans spend billions each year on sports
while we let millions of children (and adults)
go hungry in the world, some in our own country.

I'm done, reading and seeing what i see on the news. You know that 5,120 children went missing during hurricane katrina, and out of all those kids when the storm hit, 5,120 children werefound and reunited with there familes after. Did you know that?! no, cause there are apparently more and important things to discuss nationally on the news. Let's change this world. let's change it.

These kids grow up to get into army and politics. Then the realization helps them to prevent wars and the blood shed happening in the world now.
