They don't do anything else, they're just there to be entertaining and give people free stuff. That way they sell more tickets by making the game seem more fun than it really is.

" I'd suggest Mascots being involved with Commentary during games...perhaps making witty complaints on plays...maybe even actively throwing things at players or mouthing off at the Refs...they could also be considered part of the Roster perhaps at a certain point"
