Why does anybody do what they do? They do everything they do because in some way, shape, or form it benefits them. Man is his own worst enemy...

What do you mean by judge? In life you make choices, and one of them is deciding who to trust, who to admire, who to be friends with. You're operating on limited information in a sea of self-interest, deception, and confusion. So you do have to be careful. If you can't make decisions about this you're completely paralyzed, unable to discriminate between who you can trust, who is worth your time, and who is not.

If you're the victim of misperception or hasty judgments that can be harsh. Especially when judgments are based on race, accent, religion, background, or when they misperceive you. Everyone should have a chance. But in all fairness people have nothing to go on beyond what they see of you, and if they don't exercise some discretion they're just plain lost. If people judge you harshly maybe you should think about what image you're projecting, rather than blaming others for being cautious.

It may be true that you can't judge a book by its cover. But there are fifty thousand books in the bookstore, and the cover is often the only thing you have to go on when deciding whether or not to look inside.

Two reasons. insecurity and ignorance. In the case of people to judge someone would allow the person to either include or exclude an individual. These judgment come from an internal insecurity as well as a ignorance that blinds them and does not allow them to have a open mind or an open heart.

Human Nature!

It is just human nature to judge. We don't understand other peoples ways or culture so it must be wrong! Things that are not familiar or are strange scare us. So we criticize and pick at the points we see as weakness. That empowers us in our minds.

The spirit that dwells within human beings lusts to envy.

To envy is to admire and covet, and to do that you have to judge.

It's inherent in human nature to compare and rationalize about the results of those comparisons.

Now, the real reason: we are taught to judge by our parents; passing down their judgmental standards is a kind of immortality. This represents an inbreakable habit inherent in parenthood.

Sometimes it's easier to judge others than to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Where suppose to make judgments; most often the problem is our judgments are for the wrong reasons or simply incorrect.

But, life is, in part, about making judgments. So it's done by a demand of nature. We just get carried away with everything.

People judge others in order to find themselves. The more lost you are, the more judgemental you are.

Because it makes them feel better about themselves. That's judgmental of me to say though, isn't it?
This one time I knew this girl, and a guy asked her why she didn't like him, because she hardly even knew him, her answer was "because you judge people too much". Anyway, kind of funny story. I guess it's just human nature and we all have to learn to overcome it.
